"Blasted! This bloody map is being a fiend again!" Ren slammed the map down upon her desk. "It's impossible to tell where the bloody hell we are with all this fog!" It had been several days since the ship had begun sailing to Rentown. Fog had rolled in earlier that morning and was getting thicker by the hour.
"Capt'm, we should be gettin closer. We have been on der right track." Yellow Patch reassured her. He had entered her office just a moment before.
"What do you know, ya bloody old man?" Ren tossed her head with annoyance.
"I know yer just frustrated Capt'm." Yellow Patch took off his cap and rubbed his bald head and scratched his white beard, feeling self conscious of his fleeting years.
"You're right Yellow Patch, I am frustrated! I shouldn't yell at you for it, but just with all this bloody fog! I can't focus -
There came a little tap on the door, Ren paused. Anette then entered the Captain's office. "Ren? I'm sorry to bother you."
"Huh? Oh no no, you aren't bothering me." Ren's mouth lifted into a light smile and her eyes perked up.
~Her attitude changed awful quick.~ Yellow Patch thought.
"Well, the rest of the crew seem to be getting uneasy and then I heard yelling from in here and I began to worry." Anette explained.
"Oh well, I was just . . . discussing a travel plan, yes that is exactly what I was doing. Calmly in chat with Yellow Patch here." Ren told the maiden with an obviously fake chuckle. Yellow Patch rolled his eyes.
Captain Ren stepped out onto the main deck. Her eyes scrunched because the fog was messing with her vision. " 'ey crew! Make sure to secure the sail! I feel a wind coming! And with this fog it will make our trip a bit risky!" She shouted over the loud noise of heavy waves crashing.
"Aye aye Cap'm!" Was the reply.
Heavy winds picked up as the pirates work fast and hard to get the ship ready for the weather change. "Captain?" Nico walked over to the blurry figure of Ren. "I can't see clearly! Do ya know where we are yet?" Nico touched Ren by the shoulder, making sure it was her.
"Well I -
The Feather Flyer shook rapidly as there was a hard crash on the side of the ship. The giant wooden construction rocked back and fourth with great force. As the ship tipped side to side, Ren lost her balance (as did the rest of the crew) and started sliding on the deck. Nico caught her hand and pulled her to her feet. He had hold of a rope that hung from the mast. He wrapped his arm around her held her by the waist. "You alright?" He asked, nearly shouting.
"Y - yeah." The captain answered.
"R - Ren!" a voice called. Anette sprung out of the Captain's quarters, holding on to the side wall. She said, "Ren, where are you?" she searched around until she took hold of her other hand that wasn't occupied by Nico. "I think there is something attached to the boat."
