Slithering sounds were heard as the group's sight turned to the pool of water. From the far side came two pale arms that grabbed onto the shore. As it pulled itself onto land, scales could be seen on it's elbows and bony shoulders. It's hair looked like strands of transparent blue string. It's shoulder blades stuck out like miniature wings of bone and flesh. When it sat on land a tale slid across the ground, the tale was white with silver highlights, and the end of the tale looked like a snake split in two.
The creature was faced away from the group. It did not move for several seconds.
Anette's eyes widened when she studied the thing. ~I haven't seen a siren like her in a long time.~ She thought. ~The Cave Siren's have always looked so different from the open ocean ones. But I've never seen one this pale and ghostly before. She must have lived here for centuries.~ Anette's lips tightened with worry. ~ Even if she looks like this, she's still just like me. She's still partly human.~
The Cave Siren then turned quickly around. Her face was skinny and she had scales on her cheeks, her lips were thin and two pointed teeth stuck out of her mouth. Her eyes were completely white, they glowed with anger.
"She -" Nico took a step back with surprise. "She's the most beautiful thing I've ever scene!" He gasped.
"What are you talking about?" Anette exclaimed, confused. She looked around at the three. Araja was also surprised and in a trance. It was only Ren that seemed to stay focused. "I don't understand." Anette studied the siren ~She must have disguised herself. I heard that some Siren's have that ability but, I've never seen it in person. Of course, her power wouldn't effect me.~
Anette ran up to Ren and squeezed her arm. "Ren, we have to get out of here! Let's go back."
