Jace's POV
Sarah was in her position, kneeling in front of Christian, just in case there were any difficulties with taking him off the car's broken window and he fell down. Sasha went and positioned herself slightly behind him, but mostly to his side. She asked for the details on the situation that I found myself in as Jameson and Will positioned themselves in the best position possible to remove Chris's arm from the glass that was stuck in it. The were pretty wimpy men, but that didn't take from their ability to properly deal with the situation because they were the medics. Sasha and Sarah were the brawn, tall and muscular women, honestly they could be very scary.
All I really knew was that his name was Christian, he was Colombian and he was stuck on the glass shard of a broken glass window when I found him. And I explained all of this to her.
By now he was completely limp in my arms with a couple tear streaks on his cheeks. He probably thought he was going to die. I checked his pulse and breathing whilst Sasha continued to question me and Jameson and Will got to work on Chris.
"Right, but... how'd you think he got here in the first place? This place is sealed off from the passengers from the moment they all leave their cars. Did you see any signs of forced entry on the doors or anything off?" She asked in a tone that screamed confusion.
"Nope, not a thing. Maybe he hid it out whilst the passengers left the unit." I replied, I really didn't care about what he was doing here, regardless of the fact that it looked like he tripped while trying to steal from the car he was stuck to. But what did scare me was the fact that he was not breathing. Like at all. Although, he did still have a pulse.
"Right, he's good. He wasn't struck on an artery," Will said, mumbling to himself.
After saying this, Will held Christian's arm steady whilst Jameson tightened a tourniquet around it, just above the wound, before removing his arm from the shard.
"Let's speed this up, he's not breathing," my voice showed a surprising amount of concern and fear as I said this. Will and Jameson took this into account and sped up the removal with Sarah and Sasha joined in to help with carrying his limp body to the medical unit once his arm was free and wrapped up to stop it from leaking blood onto the floors of the ferry.
***********************
There were no other issues that needed my attention and I was done with patrol, so I was able to stay with Christian as they took him into intensive care. He's since then woke up, freaked out some, then passed out again. Then woke up, though clearly out of it, after his wound had been taken care of, all that was left for his care was permission from his parents to perform a blood transfusion and a sample of his mother's blood, seeing as she was likely to be a match for his blood type.
And now, I just gotta wait for his parents to show up, while Sarah's out looking for them.
Christian seemed understandably dazed, but when I explained the situation to him, understanding that there was a chance that what I said wouldn't sink in, fear began to set into his features. I couldn't tell why, but something about his fear didn't sit well with me.
"Um, Christian?" His head snapped up in my direction like a dog would when called. "You good?" He just stared at me, as if he was confused at what I said, all I asked was if he was okay. I shot him a questioning thumbs up and he stared at my thumbs. I decided to brush it off, knowing that he probably wasn't really registering anything that was going on around him.
After a couple minutes passed, Christian started to become more and more aware of his surroundings and his fear. I watched as the dazed look in his eyes slowly cleared. Examining his face as I did so.
His fear was really getting to me.
"So..." He spoke up for the first time in a since the situation I found him in, "why are you people looking for my parents?" He spoke with a deep Hispanic accent and was clearly having to think hard about what words to use.
"You've just been diagnosed with anaemia because for the amount of blood you lost in the storage unit, its not severe, but it needs to be taken care of quickly." I responded with the 'professional' voice my aunt had told me I had to use whilst talking to patrons whilst relaying the words Sarah had instructed me to tell him, word for word.
He stared at me with a look of pure confusion on his face for a couple seconds before brushing it of and asking: "how did you know that my parents were even on this ferry?"
I didn't. I assumed he wasn't as thief that had snuck onto this ferry but instead was a son of one of the patrons that were invited onto this trip... so I didn't really have an answer.
"You told me your parents were here." I lied through my teeth.
"No I did not." He retorted with no hesitation.
"Well then, it must have been my imagination..." He stared at me suspiciously then looked away, seemingly brushing my lie of.
He had some cute eyes though.
Sarah was back minutes after the exchange with two adults in tow. The moment they stepped in the room, Christian's eyes darted to the floor and his facial expression was masked to the point where he looked expressionless, although his eyes still showed his fear.
