Jago led them into an empty dorm room which Aero assumed was the one he shared with Thomas and Hannah.
Jago sat down on a metal chair, folding his arms over his chest and looked up at Aero expectantly. His eyebrows poised in an expression that managed to be simultaneously both questioning and judgemental.
"You didn't come to sparring practice yesterday," Aero began, cursing himself for sounding like someone who was pissed off that they got stood up.
"I am aware. Dr. Itagawa has already discussed the error of my ways with me in great detail," Jago's lips twitched. "Thankfully I don't think I'll be getting a 'retirement' party any time soon though..."
"It's not a fucking joke," Aero snapped, already feeling furious, "you try waking up to find an empty bed next to you and having to ask the Handlers where your friends have gone."
Jago pulled a face, "You lost many friends that way?"
Aero shrugged, "A few...one...Heather... guess I'm not that great at making friends. Probably a good thing in this world. But Cody, Sienna and Tyron..."
"Family?" Jago asked.
"Something like that," Aero replied, "and you? You have a...pack?"
Jago looked amused, "Did Hannah teach you that word?"
Jago sighed and stretched his arms, making his thin cotton vest ride up to reveal washboard abs and a dusted trail of fair hair leading below his pants. Aero lost his focus for a moment, absently wetting his lips. When he looked back up, Jago was staring at him thoughtfully.
"Um, yeah - she said you guys are in like a pack?"
"I know what it's like to wake up next to empty beds Aero," Jago replied suddenly. "We've lost pack members too, maybe not to 'retirement', but people get sent on missions they don't come back from."
"You've lost people you care about?" Aero narrowed his eyes. Jago sighed and gestured to a fourth bed in the corner, the sheets were neatly made and it didn't look slept in.
"Melanie," he said by way of explanation, "killed on a scouting mission much like the one we're going on. Her Doll survived though."
Aero scratched his chin, "You don't think much of Dolls do you?"
Jago huffed, "I think you lack the humanity necessary to make the right choices."
"Oh please!" Aero scoffed. "If you're just going to recycle all of the usual insults I might as well do it for you - we're cold and frigid right?"
"Are you frigid?" Jago asked, looking all too amused.
"Oh fuck you," Aero bit out, "I don't even know why I was going to bother!"
"Bother with what?" Jago asked before Aero could leave.
"Ugh - I don't know - making amends? Trying to form some semblance of a viable partnership before we go on one of those super dangerous missions you mentioned?" Aero shouted angrily.
Jago's look darkened, "I don't work well with Dolls."
"You must have once," Aero retorted, crossing over and pulling out a chair for himself.
"You were partnered before. How did you bond with Vera? Before she...went rogue," the word and its implications still sat uncomfortably on Aero's tongue, "...and tried to frame you. You must have done something to at least have a connection with her?"
He looked at Jago questioningly.
"We fucked," Jago responded bluntly, not taking his eyes off Aero as if monitoring for his reaction. Aero felt himself twitch in his seat before swallowing hard,
"Well yeah...maybe we should do that?" Aero offered weakly. He was pretty sure he was joking… pretty sure.
"Maybe we should," Jago responded, keeping his gaze focused on Aero. Well, Aero had always been one to rise to a challenge, and he could certainly out-chicken a Feral.
He stood up abruptly, making Jago raise his eyebrows.
Aero breathed deeply before he pulled off his uniform top, the high narrow neck scraping against his already flushed cheeks.
"Where do you want me then?" he asked Jago, whose pointed stare was now directed at Aero's bare chest.
Aero didn't feel embarrassed though, he knew he had a good body, it was designed to be good. He might not have been as large or muscular as the Feral but he was toned and lean, his own abs cut sharp and defined.
Jago sat back in his chair, looking lazily amused, it made Aero’s tongue go dry.
"Alright then," Aero said casually, walking forwards to straddle Jago's lap, hell yeah - Aero was going to dominate this game of chicken.
Jago sat still and unmoving, bar a definite smirk on his perfectly chiselled face. Aero decided to step it up a notch and leaned forward, pressing his lips gently against Jago's neck, just below his ear.
He heard a definite intake of breath from the Feral, which shot straight to his own groin.
Before Aero realised it, he was grinding up and down in Jago's lap. It satisfied him to note that there was an answering hardness beneath him.
He pulled back to stare at Jago's face, the Feral's expression had softened slightly but still remained frustratingly unreadable.
Suddenly, Jago leant forward, Aero panicked, assuming the other boy was going to capture his lips in a kiss. Instead, Jago pressed them cheek to cheek, the Feral's stubble scratching at Aero's skin, his breath hot in the shell of Aero's ear.
"I read your file," Jago murmured, leaving Aero to wonder what the hell kind of dirty talk that was.
"Itagawa showed it to me when I demanded to know why I'd been paired with you."
"O-okay?" Aero stuttered, confused as he splayed his legs further and felt his tight balls rub over the stiff bulge in Jago's pants.
"You think Dolls are perfect," Jago whispered, his voice pouring deep like thick honey and making Aero feel tingles down his spine. "You think that they are genetic perfection who have no need of Ferals."
"Yeah, and?" Aero moaned as he steadied himself with a hand gripped tightly on one of Jago's broad shoulders. His other hand he snaked down towards Jago's crotch, wrapping his long fingers around the outline of Jago's fabric covered dick.
The Feral's cock felt impossibly large, heavy and thick through his sweatpants, spearing through Aero's fist like a clothed rod of steel.
Jago gasped as he bucked up, his own hands clasping around Aero's hips, holding him still.
"Thing is...you don't think you're a Doll, not really," Jago breathed, so low that Aero almost missed it. But he didn't, and the words made him freeze instantly.
"You think your Handlers when you were a kid were right," Jago continued, shifting himself higher into Aero's now weakening grip. "You think something went wrong with you."
Aero could feel panic building up in his chest. He squirmed backwards to see Jago's face but the Feral pinned him still, leaving Aero to let go of Jago's dick and instead paw helplessly at his chest.
"Perhaps you think you should have been 'retired'?" Jago asked hoarsely, pressing his mouth closer to Aero's ear, mouthing at the fine hairs on his scalp, going down his neck.
Aero opened his mouth to speak but found himself wordless, pinpricks of sweat started needling down his body.
"You see? That's why I was assigned to you Doll," Jago hissed the word venomously. "We're both broken."
