March Wednesday 25th. I woke feeling good today. Drive Ra into the city for Uni and then realised I’d left me mobile phone at home and had to go back to get it. Made it to work just in time. More restrictions were put in place today and its strange being out on the road in what should be ‘peak hour traffic’. Any other time I would have gone from home to the city, home again and then to work in an hour and a half, today it was 40 minutes.
Had a meeting with J’s care group teacher today. We have now arranged for J to do his schooling online until further notice. The school term here doesn’t end for another two weeks but word on the street is school will finish up end of next week and they’ll break a week early, giving them a three week school holiday before the next school term. So now I’ve also become a home school teacher. Spent all of tonight getting the low down about where J is at with his schooling and what’s expected over the next two weeks.
Picked up Ra from the city. She brought home a box of Porsche car parts for her costume design class - she has to use them to make a costume for the Porsche fashion show (that may not even go ahead now unless it has been postponed for later in the year). She’s excited, however our house is not made for everyone being at home at once for so long and with so much additional stuff. She had to bring it home as Uni is closing end of this week for a four week break. She’s to complete her costume, at home, during this time. Wonderful.
Also, dropped off some more mask this evening. I’ve prepared my next lot of fabric tonight to be cut and plan to make more masks over the weekend again.
Hubby purchased and cook a huge leg of lamb tonight, while I did a big batch of roast vegetables. Then, when it was all ready we all headed out into different direction to feed the rest of our family before returning home to eat ours. We would always has a lamb roast at my mother-in-laws house every other week and because of self isolation we decide we could still have our roast but separately. It was wonderful. We got photos of us all eating our roast dinner from different locations.
March Thursday 26th. We’ve started counting the number of days we’ve been in self isolation and we are now at Day 37.
Work was extremely taxing today. A lot going on and a lot of people fearful. I’ve been on the phone for almost all of it and it’s exhausting trying to fight fires that otherwise wouldn’t be there. Ra and J were super productive today. They updated their resumes and went around to the supermarkets and dropped them off. Ra drove them both and they stop at all our local places. I was super proud when I found out.
In the evening Ra helped me with the cutting out of more mask panels. We made a little video and I will share the link below.
March Friday 27th. Day 38. We are all in good sprits today. Kids have now finished up with school.
I went for a long walk through our local cemetery (less people there). Met up with my very best friend at the rotunda both observing the social distancing. It was so good to see her - we always catch up every Saturday morning and that’s not been happening, so this meet up was wonderful. She’s an early childhood teacher and she’s been extremely stress by everything. I wished I could have hugged her but when this is over I’ve give her dozens.
J told me an interesting story when he was walking through the cemetery yesterday (Pokamon battle thing is in the cemetery so he and Ra have been walking down there to do battles - I have no idea what I’m talking about but if you play Pokemon Go, then hopefully you know). So the Federal Government has now restricted the number of people attending a funeral to 10 people with social distancing observed. So J was walking to the Pokemon battle place and he sees a outdoor funeral and he counts 10 people all observing the social distance but he can’t work out why there are so many more cars then people until he gets close and realises all the cars are filled with people who have also attended but remain in their cars. I thought that was an interesting way to work around the issue.
It was another hectic day at work and I’m glad its Friday and I can ‘relax’ over the weekend. Tomorrow is No News Saturday - where I don’t read or listen to any news about the virus. Looking forward to it.
Hope everyone is well. Let me know what you're doing during your isolation.
