“-I should” Jasper finished his sentence as he woke up. “Where?-” He was questioning where we were and I filled him in.
“In a hotel room. You were out for two days.” I told him.
“Two days?” Jasper yelled in response.
“Jas you have thin blood, you bled a lot and ultimately passed out. I have type O blood so I just donated some to you.” I said.
“How did you do that?” He asked,
“We scavenged for a day, got some medical supplies. Also stitched up your gun shit wound. Don’t use your arm.”
“Uh, sure.” He said and sat up. “Where are the girls?”
“Emma cried herself to sleep last night and like an hour ago, she was scared to lose you. Elly was with her and is outside for air right now.”
“Is it ok for that?” He said
“What do you mean?”
“People are scary.” Was all he said and I went to go call her back.
“Elly” I said walking onto the roof. “Should come back inside, Jas is awake”
Ellysa was staring over the edge of the roof. Standing oddly close, it made me uncomfortable.
I stayed silent and held her hand. She turned around quickly as if she just noticed I was here.
“Come on, Jas is awake” I said. She stared for a second and nodded. We walked back inside.
We walked in on Emma crying in Jasper’s lap. He was very obviously uncomfortable with this.
“Hey” I said walking in with Ellysa. Emma jumped up and hugged me even tighter than a couple days ago.
“Seriously, thank you Kristen.” She said, I was stunned. I was not expecting this. I looked over to Ellysa face to face with Jasper and she hugged him.
Everyone stayed like this for a couple minutes. The girls finally realized how me and Jasper were looking so uncomfortable and they stopped.
“Sorry” Emma said.
“It’s ok” I continued to hug her. Jasper and Ellysa were in their own little world.
“This like a couple thing now?” Emma asked.
“Uhm” I didn’t know how to respond to that. “I don’t know?”
“Up for debate” she said, ending this conversation.
