My eyes were like a shard from a broken mirror, while gazing outside, as the winter settled in silently. The scenery ahead of me seemed like it was pulled out from a painting. It was mesmerizing and sedentary, clad in a silver, icy coat, glittering from the light which came from the street lightning poles piercing the murkiness of the night
My gaze felt on a tree near the building, that was withered and the form of the branches was unusual. It looked like claws, ready to pierce someone or pull anything within reach into its grip. I felt like seeing it for the first time, as I glanced outside the window, breathing the cold air, while snowflakes melted at the touch of my face. The house was unnervingly silent. Everything was motionless until a loud banging of the entry door against the wall, pulled me out from my thoughts. It was morning, some minutes past six to be precise.
With a box full of food and more party supplies, Yves entered joyful, trying to hide his irritation. My eyes widen, as my head moved on a side and behind him, Jo was standing in front of the door, fidgeting.
I breathe deep, feeling the cold air in my lungs, and flashes from this hellish day that passed invaded my mind. My mother's expression haunted me all night, making me unable to sleep, and Theon saliva oozing out from his lip into my brother's mouth, as he was his head was kept backwards, being pulled by his slick and dirty hair. His body was bathed in sweat, yet I could not move.
Emilian's body went limp, as his eyes rolled out, falling in his own vomit. Oliver tapped his tongue and winked toward me.
"Nat, did you go on a memory lane trip?" I heard Yves voice and a thud echoed through the living room, as he let go of the box.
Yves scoffed as he walked toward me, watching toward my room to see if my door was closed. I nodded, letting him know I'm fine although.
"Jo!" I managed to blabber, while she stood there, afraid to step in the apartment.
"Did you know a security guy gone missing also? Hearing that I gulped. The tension in the room could be cut with a knife, like my body froze instantly when our eyes locked. The cold pierced needles through my skin while the wind lulled, creating an eerie sensation all of a sudden. Yves closed the window, while I closed my eyes and let my heart settle in my rib cage. Slowly as I opened back I started to walk toward her, feeling her pulse resonating in my head.
"No!" I told her."I have no idea what happened at that night there. I haven't felt good." My voice was ravaged by the poisonous lies, being sealed by my own thoughts. "She" was dormant, but my mind vividly sent me back into the past. Each step toward her, reminded me as I walked toward my sister, hungry and ready to kill.
"Then why your eyes are so sad, Nathaniel!" She suddenly blurted out, while her eyes become glassy. Her chin trembled, while I bit my bottom lip, unable to reach her. With my head lean down I seeked help, as my creature inside me was awakening... My fangs pierced my bottom gums, feeling the crimson liquid taste in my mouth.
"Why do you think?" Yves annoyed snarled back at her. 'You're worried about a douchebag..."
"Enough, Yves!" She cut him off, making him wrinkle his nose, ready to jump on her throat, as he rapidly started to walk toward her, only to be stopped by me, as cutting his way with my arm. With the corner of his eye, he saw the real color of my eyes, underneath my bangs, but huffed.
As I touched him, I shivered. His thoughts were scattered yet, a deep bleakness embraced him. Darker emotions flood through him. He wanted to kill her instantly. While his facial expression was calmer than ever.
"Get out Johana!" He let her know, while he combed his hair with his fingers, unveiling his eyes. The onyx color in them gave a sinister vibe. Cold, untouchable, feral. Jo held her hands to her chest, turning around. Sadness was written on her face.
"The authorities were called..." She let us know, as she left, only to stop on her tracks and without turning, she whispered something that she might have known we heard. "I know you know where our brother is. Don't harm him, please! I saw..." Both of us turned to each other, confused. What she had seen?
"The girl. I think she knows more than she lets on." Theon voice pierced the silence, making me tilting my head.
"It is impossible." I let him know."Only if she saw us that night..."
"...or remembered when you bit her, and what happened next." Yves continued my thought. "Chill Nat, I got it cover, police will not link anything to us." I let a frail nod, while felt a sharp pain in my shoulder, making me close an eye from pain and let a grimace appear.
"Kill her!" The demon voice that was sealed in us, whispered, but I shook out my head, scattering her voice. It was enough I had my brother let in the arms of death, I could not afford losing my younger sister. Not be eaten by a monster like me.
"We might..." I suddenly glared at Yves, filled with rage, while pushing him aside. He felt over the table, shattering the glass with his body. I didn't watchedback, ran in our feeding room to see if he was still alive, followed by Theon which walked casually behind me, and Yves cussing while standing up.
I gasped once entered and the strand of light felt on Emilian. He was facing the wall, scratching it. Turning his head toward us, through the darkness his eyes were murky, as on his mouth, foam was forming. His skin darkened, while he veins were seeing clear through his skin.
My head snapped toward Theon, while he shrugged, tapping once again the tip of his tongue. He bent over, getting closer to my lips, brushing them with his tongue. His mind was clear like never been so far. An open book.
I know you could not heal your brother from Yves poison, without killing him. Might not close his wounds, but in time will make his body resistant. Don't trust him...
I smiled gently, bemused by his last words, while Theon averted his eyes toward a fuming Yves.
The glimmer Yves had in his eye, as glaring at Theon for a second was filled with pure malice. A strand of blood oozed out from the corner of his lip, while his fang pierced the flesh, ripping it...Theon whistled, making me jolt as he embraced my body...
Yves snarled at Theon, pushing him in the wall behind me with force, while Ethan jumped fast between them.
"You piece of shit, what are you doing?...
Theon lip lifted in defiance, as he gripped Yves arm, until his sharp nails pierced it. Emilian jerky breath filled up the room, while trying to stand up from the floor, but his knees crumble under the weakness of his body, fainting. The chain let out a symphony to resonate through us. All was a facade, while slowly our masks crumbled and the core of our rotten hearts was revealed. Yves spit his blood that filled his mouth, and jerked Theon head facing him.
"Keeping him alive!" Simple he said as he wiped his shirt, from Yves touch, pushing him aside...
Yves stormed outside, kicking a chair, while Theon's mind was becoming hazy. Oliver was waking up. His body trembled and was scared.
"Ethan, take him in my room." The child nodded while walking him out, holding Theon from his hand. I brushed everything and sat down near my brother, closing everything, letting my mind be taken by darkness, while with my sharp fangs cut my wrist, letting blood pour on my brother naked body, 'feeding it..."
He won't remember this. In his eyes I'll still be a monster, but he will still be alive.
Christmas will soon arrive and after I will have to decide what I will do with him. While closing my eyes, a shadow was lurking. Yves had an impenetrable mask that I was unable to read anymore.
"I'm sorry!" He only said as he stood near me, leaning by the wall." I think I need a good fuck!" Hearing him I snorted.
As we all three stood in the darkness, in my mind, a lullaby is heard from the deepest of my soul. Was is a shout of wrath and helplessness. Our fingers touched, while Yves's head fell on my shoulder, looking angelic.
I pulled my brother toward me, and so did with Yves, caging them both with my arms, keeping both safe, for now...
Another scar was sewn with simple gestures, but a gash was bleeding heavily still, while outside the calmness of the morning, was engulfed by a storm.
The spider was watching us from the depth of hell. Closing my eyes, I face the phantom that haunts me since then...
