After breakfast, the girls took off in separate directions. Cecil, to the library, and hope, to the park. It was just the moms left at home, and while.the children are away, the adults will talk junk about raising them.
“ God, why is being a mom so hard? It's like someone came down, and said ‘ you shall not be satisfied with your life!’ What's up with that?”
“ I totally get it, and why are the girls still.going at it with each other? Last night they were stargazing, what happened?” the women pondered on the couch as morning soap operas played on the television.
“ I have no idea why my little girl is acting the way she is.”
“ you think- no, they couldn't.”
“ really? You think?”
“ they are a lot smarter than we think they are, maybe they do know.”
“ Well this morning was kind of awkward.” they both bit the bottom of their lips, slowly looking back toward the TV.
“ You know, if they don't know, they will find out sooner or later. I think we need to tell them some time soon.”
“ Yeah, you're probably right, but not yet. I think it's exciting to have a secret for once.”
They giggled, and got themselves comfortable on the couch.
“ Hey, you wanna try that fruit thing again?” Lee said, nudging at Franny's arm.
“ … yeah, but you have to be on the lookout.”
“ YAY!”
They both giggled like children, jumping off the couch and running into the kitchen. Meanwhile at the library, cici sat in front of a computer screen with headphones in. one of the workers scoffed at her and whispered to a coworker nearby, “ Look, it’s the blind girl. I hate when she gets here, she’s always messing with the settings on the computer and I always have to change them back when she leaves.”
“ well, why don’t you tell her to remember to change the settings back after she’s done?”
“ I did, I put a note at the entrance.” the coworker looked at them and growled, “ you’re an idiot.”
