I changed quick, making sure nobody else was awake, and then I walked out to the meeting room. If we all needed to be present for the morning distribution of information, I needed to wake everyone up. I waited for Brittany to stumble back out of her part of the cabin and asked how she wanted to wake everyone up. She told me that we should trade sides and shout at the girls to wake up.
I walked into her side of the cabin and took a hug breath and then-
“Wake up bitches!” Brittany shouted at the top of her lungs, making me jump and scream.
The girls each started in their own way, which ended up with one of them literally falling out of her bunk and landing on her face. One jumped up and smacked her arm on the wall. And one shot up, knocking off her blanket and revealing she wasn’t wearing a top. I spun around and ran out of the room, my face bursting into flames of embarrassment.
Brittany walked back in, noticed my reaction, and asked what went wrong. When I explained what happened, she started laughing . I complained at her that it wasn’t funny, to which she made the point that I didn’t have to see Tanya’s morning issue, so it was better than I thought. It took me a moment to process that, and when I looked at her and the mischievous smile she had, I knew she was joking.
“We just have to wait for everyone to get dressed and we can head over to the mess.” She said, reassuring me.
As the girls slowly shuffled into the room, I could see the dynamics of the morning in stages. You have three types of people; those who wake and are ready to rock right out the gate, the ones you would call “good students.” Then you have those who have a looser idea of what punctuality is, the ones who are sleepy and stumble about for a bit before their morning beverage. And then you have those who need a little more attention to get going, those ones who need six different alarms to get up.
Cathy and Jenny were the first on the scene, which made sense; a goody two shoes who likely had her day planned from wake up to sleep time, and a farm hand where they’re up before the sun.
Kim, Dominiqu, and Jasmine all came in next. Dominiqu pulled me off to the side and apologized for what I saw earlier when I woke them up. I shook my head, the vivid memory of her pert milk chocolate mounds making me turn bright red again. This caused Kim to come over and try to get me to tell her what was going on.
I heard more than saw Tanya and Taylor entering the room. Tanya slumped against the door frame and Taylor flopped to the floor like a marionette without string. Tanya eventually pushed off the frame and made it about seven steps before slumping against my shoulder, the glazed over look of her half asleep face was too cute for words. Too bad that was ruined by the feeling of something pressing itself against my leg through her sweatpants.
Brittany got Taylor slung over her and Jenny’s arms and made her way toward the door, I followed suit carrying Tanya. We got about halfway up the hill when a loudspeaker went off announcing it was time to get up and meet in the mess hall. This seemed to finish waking Tanya and Taylor up, and we were able to hurry the rest of the way to the mess. A drone stopped in front of me when we opened the door and popped out a roll of paper.
I unfurled it and looked over the contents:
Day 2 Events: Swim Relay, Trap shooting
I sighed in relief, knowing at least one of these we had in the bag. But I also realized, with only two events we couldn’t get out of not participating in any of them. So these events should count more than the ones today, or so I hoped. And then I noticed something else.
Daily Standing
Silver Sparrow 10pts
Bronze Bullfinch 0pts
Chrome Cassowary 0pts
Gold Guan 0pts
Hauyne Hummingbirds 0pts
Iridium Ibis 0pts
Osmium Owls 0pts
Platinum Puffins 0pts
Wolframite Wryneck 0pts
So we were here twice before everyone else, and we had 10 points, so… I guess we got 5 points per early arrival? I showed Brittany and the others, and then I folded the paper repeatedly along an imaginary line which I proceeded to rip along. Had it not been for the somewhat rough edge, I would have said it looked like there hadn’t been anything there. Dominiqu yanked it out of my hand and cut along the top to make it look like it was a machine cut with her knife.
I nodded, asked a drone for a small tack, and pinned the score to the front of the mess hall. I figured I could at least make it look like it wasn’t forged, leave it in the open and see how people took it. Then I told the girls to get food and get ready for the big event. I figured this would likely be the end of the road for me, so I took pleasure in my choice of breakfast, and started to walk over toward the secluded corner table. But then Tanya and Kim slid their arms into mine and guided me over to the table with the other girls.
I sat down, the girls seating themselves around me, and I started picking at the meal before me. I knew I needed to finish and get the tray taken care of before the jerks showed up to wreck my last meal. I wasn’t even paying attention to what I was actually doing until I saw a random fork snagging a sausage from my tray. I blinked and looked over as Kim blew on it and held it out in front of me.
“Want a bite of my big, juicy meat?” she teased, a wide smile spreading over her face.
I froze, uncertain about what to do here. Was she really trying to feed me, or was she messing with me?
“Maybe you want me to play with it for you first?” she leaned in, starting to slip her tongue from her mouth and acting like she was going to lick the sausage.
“No, no. I’ll bite, I’ll bite.” I said, leaning in. I didn’t expect this when I woke up, but I had to guess this was her being nice because she knew I was done for when the events started.
I reached out to take the fork and she slapped my hand. “I get to feed you, no touching.”
I was super lost, but I opened my mouth. She slid the sausage into my maw and let me take a bite. I chewed and looked at her, trying to figure out her game.
“Will you close your eyes for this next bite?” she asked, twirling around her fork so I could get the remaining meat.
I rolled my eyes, she was having too much fun. Maybe she was using me to practice for her boyfriend back home? Makes the most sense to me. I closed my eyes and opened my mouth. And then I felt something kind of wet and wild find its way into my mouth, and my eyes flew open. Kim had her mouth clamped onto mine and her tongue was in my mouth. Alarms went off in my head. If someone walked in and saw this, I’d be in deep-
*SLAM*
…Shaite.
My eyes looked over at the door slamming open, and there was trouble. Trouble saw me with this girl latched onto my face and- WHY IS HER HAND ON MY LEG? WHY IS SHE RUBBING?
“Hey, fatass! Quit playing around here, this score sheet is crap. There’s no way you’re in the lead.” I heard Michael yell. “And who did you blackmail to get that broad to act all hot and heavy on you?”
Kim pulled back and put a finger on my lips. “Let us handle this.”
My eyes grew wide, my stomach dropped, and I could only feel a sense of dread and fear welling inside.
“He didn’t have to blackmail anyone. He showed us all what he’s got last night. Just look over at Tanya there. Why do you think she looks so sleep deprived?” Dominiqu called out, pointing to Tanya. The girl in question looked like she was about ready to fall asleep in her breakfast, but a huge grin was plastered on, she made a few low moaning noises and then turned her head to me.
“You are going to help me back to the cabin, right? After what you did last night, I’m still a little wobbly in the legs.” She said in the most sultry voice I have ever heard come from a woman’s throat. For a moment I almost forgot that she had the same plumbing as I did, but then it clicked. Nobody else knows about that, she’s acting like a woman who just… Oh no…
I turned to tell Kim to stop, but there was Brittany putting her arm on my shoulder and standing behind me. She leaned in to whisper in my left ear, “”Don’t. Just let the girls do their thing. I told them not to, but they have a plan. If it works, you’ll owe them.”
“I mean , I was still a mess this morning. Let’s just say the sun wasn’t the only thing coming up this morning.” Dominiqu said, getting in on the action. She came over and used her finger to make me look at her face, then said loudly, “Let’s go again tomorrow. Get us some early morning cardio on a daily basis, yeah?”
Taylor pushed both Brittany and Dominiqu out of the way and squeezed my head against her chest.
“No fair! He said I’m next. No take backs!”
I’d have been less concerned with the position I was in, but Taylor was just wearing a sports bra and a very thin tank top. One side of my face was mashed against boob and the other was being held in place with hands that were shaking. Was she nervous? Or was she upset that she had to act like this for someone so disgusting to her… that sounded more likely in my head.
I felt Taylor’s grip loosen and let go as I heard the voices of Jenny and Jasmine pull her off and fake a scuffle, shouts of “No, I’m next” and “Wait your turn you ho” were exchanged as things got rowdy. They moved off just enough for Brittany and Kim to try breaking it up and Cathy slid into the newly vacated space next to me, taking my arm and pulling me away.
She leaned in and whispered, “You had better be glad we all agreed to this, because I wouldn’t normally do this.”
Then she planted a kiss right on my lips. She held it there for way longer than I expected, broke contact, and whispered, “That was my first time. So you had better be special.”
My face flushed, I didn’t know what to do or say, and I wasn’t certain what to expect next. Would it be the jerks making a comment or wailing on me again? Would one of the girls do something else crazy?
No, actually. The most merciful thing that could have happened is what occurred. The loudspeakers went off announcing that the mess would stop serving food in 20 minutes, and that any students who didn’t eat by then would be stuck until 1PM.
This made all the other students behind Michael surge and writhe, all trying to get to the food machines before time was up. I on the other hand felt sick and figured I needed to go lie down. Michael stood there, between me and the door, and I knew he wasn’t going to move until I was close enough to accost.
I stood up, figuring if I got it out of the way now I wouldn’t have to endure more later, and I started walking toward the trash with my tray and then toward the door. I wouldn’t fight him, but I wouldn’t let him intimidate me. Or that was the plan until I found myself surrounded.
The girls took up positions around me, like a squad of body guards, save Tanya who was playing up the difficulty walking, and we moved toward the door as a unit. I could see Michael’s face positively glow with rage and hatred. He didn’t have a choice but to move or deal with the crazy cheer squad I had somehow obtained overnight, and he hated how much it made him look like a loser.
We got the rest of the way to the cabin in relative peace, and then I was able to sit down and catch my breath. The sheer insanity of the morning left me on edge. Brittany had everyone assemble in the meeting room again, planning to go over our strategy again.
“First of all, I want to talk about what you all just did.” Brittany started. “I distinctly remember telling you NOT to do that. But you did keep Jace out of trouble and set up quite the reputation boost. Now we just have to hope none of the other girls try to confirm any of that. That said, we need to keep our stories straight about the how and who.”
Tanya raised her hand, “May I have the pleasure of claiming I was his first? I have a whole story about how he ravaged me with his… skills, before deflowering me. You know, that whole ‘you never forget your first time’ cliché has been something I love.”
“I’m second then, it follows with our story so far.” Chimed in Dominiqu as she leaned in to high five Tanya.
I pulled myself tight into my chair, wondering how I was going to live this down. “So who thought it was a good idea to make me the camp giggalo?”
The girls all looked over at me and got quiet all of a sudden. The sheepish looks and glancing back and forth didn’t help much, but the one with the most looks was Jasmine. So I looked at her and waited patiently for a response.
“I thought… I’ve always loved the idea of a summer fling, and it makes you sound like a man’s man if you’re juggling eight different girls for two weeks… and I thought that nobody would pick a fight if they thought that… that you were really some big shot.” She said really quietly, but with all the sincerity of a kid caught “helping” their parents work.
