"Ey 'dira! The boy's waking up!"
Elias woke up, but his eyes weren't opened. He could barely move, and he thought he was dreaming.
"Give him some water"
Suddenly water splashed him across the face. It woke him up even more and he came to his senses. Gasping from shock, he looked around.
"That's not what i meant-" A girl around the same age as Kristen and himself stood before his eyes. She had brown skin and dark curly hair. Her clothing- a cropped yellow jacket with black stripes across the sleeves- it was ragged but still nice to look at. On both her hands were strange orange mechanical prosthesis that resembled canons. Silver digits protruded from them as if they were fingers.
She continued to lambast the other person beside her- an imp with light blue skin, green hair and a pair of beautiful orange, white and black wings. He wore an expensive looking jacket with a fur collar- one Elias couldn't ever imagine seeing on a lowly Imp.
He watched without saying a word, scanning the area as well. They were in one of the town's marketplaces. Still devoid of guards and citizens, though he wasn't sure where.
"Hey! Let us out! Ill give you that coin back!" A voice came from behind Elias. It caught the attention of the two in front of him.
Suddenly Elias realized. He was tied up! These were the pirates! He was tightly bound to a lamp post with Kristen being on the other side. Her struggling causing him to be squeezed in uncomfortable ways.
"Agh.. Kristen-" Elias grumbled
The girl and the Imp stared at him and Kristen. She opened her mouth and announced.
"Captain! They're awake! Both of them!"
Out from a makeshift tent, that Boiler bot from last night lumbered out. He had a faux top hat that made him taller than he actually was. He moved around like he had a mind of his own, giving way to someone behind him.
A tall man with light hazel colored skin, brown upright hair and a strong jawline. His ears were long and thick, sagging down. He was shirtless, but covered with a massive, torn yellow and purple rimmed poncho. Through the gaps of the cloth, the man's muscular form could be seen. In his hand- the Maj-Compendium.
Dread flooded Elias's gut as the man walked over.
"Where did you get this book?" the man asked as he approached Elias and shoved it into his face.
Elias tried to speak but he stumbled over his words.
"I- oh I don- He-"
Suddenly from behind him- "I did! I found it!" Kristen screamed
The guy turned his attention to her.
"I'm a treasure hunter- uh we're treasure hunters!" Kristen continued.
The man opened the book and began to look through it.
"Interesting" he said as he leafed through the pages. "It's written in old Sprei... nobody can read it.."
"He can! Elias can!" Kristen shouted.
"Kristen SHUT UP!" Elias protested quickly after. He knew what she was trying to do. He had to find a way out of this.
He looked up to the man staring down on them and begged.
"S-sir she's lying- p-please just let us go! You can have the book!"
The man closed the book and crouched down to eye Elias. The stench of sweat and unwashed hair attacked his nose. The man studied him before standing back up. He turned around and lifted his index finger.
"Take them to the airship.. we could use them"
As he said this, everyone who was standing around immediately took action. They packed their things and headed off.
Elias tried to think of a way out of the situation.
"If they're going to take us to the ship, they'd have to untie us from this post. Ill make a run for it once i'm undone" he thought to himself
The pirates thought ahead though. The imp walked over to the other side to face Kristen, and the girl faced Elias. The Boiler bot lifted the pole from behind them and the rope was tightened by the Imp and the girl. Multiple times she attempted eye contact, but Elias promptly avoided it.
The Boiler then lifted them both, put the pole back in place, and they began walking towards the edge of the City-Spire.
A vessel came into view. A rickety medium-sized wooden airship carried by a giant oval shaped helium or steam filled balloon. It was docked in the strangest place- no stairs to safely get on and off, allowing a huge gap to be in between.
"Oh no oh no nononono" Elias squirmed in an attempt to escape.
Kristen remained quiet behind him
"KRISTEN YOU'RE A COMPLETE MAD WOMAN!" Elias erupted. It seemed to calm him a bit, but he still panicked.
"Yea i know.." Kristen replied dolefully as they boarded the ship.
