As Flavian walked down the street to the carriage waiting for him, the man and the guards, people were whispering, murmuring and pointing at them. He spotted Aoko who wore a perplexed face as she watched him pass by. Mr Bensen the Baker stopped them in our tracks with folded arms but also a smiling face.
"What are you doing with my boy?" he asked.
"I'm sorry, wasn't the boy fatherless?" the man with the guards smirked. Everyone around them began to feel curious about where the conversation was going. Uncle Ben's face didn't even twitched or contort. He only raised an eyebrow. "Well forgive me for my rudeness but since I am pressured for time, I will have you know that I am Sir Cory Corté and I was sent by Baron Oswald, as a messenger, to retrieve Mister Flavian if his mother were not around to receive me," the man said smoothly and adjusted his necktie.
"What the....? What has she done now?" Uncle Ben looked at Flavian but Flavian turned his head as if he weren't being talked to. Sir Cory cleared his throat and signalled the guards near him to hold Flavian's arms.
"Sorry to end this lovely meeting so short but I do have somewhere to be and I would like to go there now and leave this alarmingly tightly packed place of a town or village or gathering or whatever you call it. The baron awaits and fear not, Mr Flavian will be back for supper," Sir Cory smiled and he trudged forwards with his guards. Uncle Ben shook his head and watched as Flavian entered the carriage, all confused.
As they rode away, Flavian spotted Aoko in the crowd again and mouthed the words 'Save me' but Aoko mouthed back 'You're on your own kid,'
That hit Flavian int he heart so hard and he immediately lost sight of her as the carriage gained more speed.

If someone had asked Flavian how the carriage ride was, he would've been speechless because all he could think about is what his mother could've done to warrant this kind of stress he was suffering. He wondered if she forgot to replace the soap bars in the bathhouse again because the last time that happened, the old soap caught some bad fungi and if it were not contained, it would have led to a great epidemic. The soaps were eventually replaced with a new and better brand since the previous ones were found faulty thanks to his mother's mistake. It was still frightening and that was just one of her various escapades. She became known in the village as a walking hazard but since Livianna's minor water magic helps with the bathhouse, they've learned to live with it.
"There a good number of gods in this world yet can barely keep my mom from barely ending the human race," he thought to himself. There were two four gods more popular than the others:
Solaria : the Sun Goddess, goddess of retribution, The Protector Goddess, goddess of all the stars
Lunaro : God of the Two Moons, God of the Calm and Mysterious, the Guiding God
Avil - God of Reincarnation, God of second chance, the Soul-loving God
Aviva - Goddess of reincarnation, Goddess of Forgiveness and Judgement, the Keeper of Souls Goddess
Though, the Solray empire mainly worships Solaria and Avil while the Moonfill empire worships the other two.
"Should I perhaps pray to Avil to receive my soul? God knows what that lady has done," Flavian shook his head vigorously before one of the guards tapped him lightly and announced that they had arrived at the Baron's mansion.
"Calm down. My name's Shawn. I guarantee they don't want your head so follow me and the others with minimal resistance and it will be alright," the guard who tapped him had said. Flavian was conflicted, whether he should be more worried or calmer after what Shawn the guard said. He nodded hard and followed Shawn, Sir Cory and the other guard out of the carriage.
Looking up to the sky once, he gulped hard before approaching the mansion while still praying silently to Avil.
