I put my hands on my back and stretches my body a little bit. A loud groan escapes my mouth and I cover it with my hand. Shortly, I laugh like a crazy woman knowing that I don’t have to shut myself up now that I have the house to myself. I pick up the last box which contains all of my make up and go upstairs to stack them on my vanity. I sit myself up and begin to arrange my makeup.
It is only six but I am already tired. Probably from unpacking my things. I finally get to lie down on the couch but my stomach growls. I roll my eyes at it and head to the kitchen. Water. I only find water in the fridge. Ugh, so annoying. I need some groceries but I am too lazy to go out.
I reach my phone and sink into the couch once more. I decide to order in and I am currently ordering online from a pizza place to deliver me some good pizza with a lot of black olives and bell peppers with a little bit of pepperoni. I also ask for extra cheese and garlic sauce. Yum.
Twenty minute pass and finally my pizza is here. I run to the door to welcome the pizza guy and ready to hand him some tips because I already paid with my card online.
“Coming!” I say cheerfully.
Hello, there! I mean what a good looking delivery guy and he looks neat as well. I thought he is going to be in a uniform or something. He is wearing a white tee that shows his muscular chest and a pair of grey sweatpants. His blonde hair is slightly curled at the end and his beard are not neatly shaved. I know it is Sunday but isn’t he supposed to wear a uniform still? My brown eyes looks right at his hazel eyes and I am hypnotized.
“Uh, hi!” He awkwardly waves.
“Yes. I mean, hi!” I shake my head. I have to stretch my neck to see him.
“The pizza guy delivered your pizza to my house.” He points out a house across the street. He turns back to lock his eyes onto me. “He was kind of in a hurry and left your pizza in my hands and left before I could say anything.”
I check on the pizza box and the name and the address matches me.
“Oh, thank you. I am so sorry to trouble you.” I quickly takes the box to myself.
“No problem.” He puts his hands on his pockets and shut his eyes tightly.
“Do you want some pizza? As a thank you?”
He is not responding. Great.
“I mean, it’s very nice of you to take this to my house. I just want to say thank you.” I bite my bottom lips out of nervous.
“You already said that.” He smiles politely.
“Are you sure you don’t want some slices to go?” I once again offer him.
“That’s very sweet but I am actually cooking dinner for my kids.”
Ah, he’s already married.
“Sorry, I am Lara. Your new neighbor.” I cheerfully offer him my free hand.
“Kyle.” He takes my hand.
“Thanks again.” I smile at him.
“Enjoy your pizza.” He returns my smile and leaves.
Hot neighbor! I internally scream at myself. A married one. I shake my head and sink back into the couch as I continue to watch Friends. I am re-watching it for a thousand times and I am currently laughing at Joey’s English class.
I almost choke on my food when I laugh my ass off and I burst out the water that just entered my mouth. I got water on my pink tee and I am too lazy to actually get up and run the stairs to get me another tee. I could careless that I am home alone now. I throw the tee above my head and cover my top with my blanket.
My body shivers when I am awaken by the cold in this room. Of course it is cold, I am topless and my blanket has fallen on to the floor. My throat hurts as I probably didn’t drink after I swallowed the pizza. I get up and check the time on my phone. It is one in the morning and my lights are still on. I cover myself with the fallen blanket and open the fridge to have some water. My sleepy hands cannot pull the blanket together and once more it falls to the ground as I am still gulping the water.
I put on the cap back on the bottle and bend down to reach the blanket and cover myself once more. I wipe off my mouth and walk over to turn off the lights before heading upstairs to properly sleep on my bed with a proper blanket.

Monday! A very fun day! Just kidding! I already groan in the shower because honestly I hate to get out of the house. I hate meeting people, I hate it. I just hate it. This morning, I have to go to meet my editor to discuss my novel. Then my stomach rebels.
My stomach always acts like a little bitch whenever I am nervous. I have to meet Mr. Jacobson at ten and I have an hour to get ready and leave at nine thirty. I am still in my bathrobe and blow drying my hair then curl the ends with a curling iron.
I put on a tinted moisturizer and put a heck of concealer underneath my eyes then pack on some loose powder to set it. I bronze my face and highlight my cheekbones and the bridge of my nose with a very subtle highlighting powder. I put a subtle earthy toned eye shadows on my eye lids and coat my lashes with a ton of mascara.
I choose a summery blue dress that ends on my upper knees and I put on a white cardigan to finish the look. I don’t get myself a coffee this morning because I don’t want to upset my stomach even more so I just go with a glass of milk instead. I grab my keys and put on my blue flats after shoving my manuscripts into my gigantic black purse.
Nine thirty and I am already driving my Audi to the Publisher’s office. I am using a GPS to reach the office because I am new in New York. I don’t know my way around here and I don’t want to waste my time to go around the city and ended up late at the meeting.
It is only nine fifty when I park my car and head to the office. JL Publisher is the biggest in the city and I am so lucky to publish my books with them. Well, I only have to publish two books with according the contract since I am a new writer. But still, I hope they will publish more than two books.
I go over to the concierge and tell them that I have an appointment with Mr. Jacobson at ten. The guy smiles flirtatiously at me and I feel awkward straight away. He whispers something on the phone and tell me to wait on the couch. I nod at his words and head to the black leather couch by the large windows.
Soon after, I see Ryan from the corner and I wave my hand to him. Ryan is about my age with slick back black hair and black eyes. His skinny figures towers me as I stand up to greet him.
“Sorry, your access card is being made at the office. You can go straight to his office the next time you visit.” He smiles at me.
“Thanks.” I shrug.
“Let’s go!” He leads the way.
We go to the 17th floor and my heart is racing faster than before. I let out a loud sigh which I regret immediately.
“Nervous?” Ryan casually asks me.
“Yeah.” I chuckle.
“Well, he is a bit rough when it comes to editing.” Ryan shrugs. “But he’s a nice guy. You’ll get used to it.”
Rough? Oh, man! Don’t tell me he will throw this heavy manuscripts on my face on our first day of editing. I cry internally when the elevator’s door opened. It is a very busy office. Phones ringing, people are walking around with manuscripts on their hands and my eyes dart towards the end of the hall. It’s a big room with an ivory door but it seems empty. I feel like I am going to throw up so I am just keeping my head down.
“He is probably yelling somewhere.” Ryan says when we get into Mr. Jacobson’s office.
I look at him helplessly and Ryan immediately taps on my shoulder. “I’m kidding!”
“Please, don’t do that!” I protest a bit.
“Yeah, sorry. He will be here soon, just have a sit.”
Ryan leaves me alone in this huge office. I sit on another black couch and cover my whole face with my hands. I am dizzy. I don’t feel so good. When the door’s opened and then closed, my heart skips a beat.
“Ms. Bennett.” A honeyed voice echoes.
I get on my feet and turn around. “Mr. Jac……. Kyle?”
“Lara?”
