I just saw something that shocked me today, a girl was flying from rooftop to rooftop of the houses nearby my school. It was the last thing I expected to see but, what baffled me more was the creature that she was chasing. It was a strange little furry creature. It was grey, round, and had no arms or legs. The girl was incessantly trying to shoot at it with her bow and arrow. Without a quiver strapped to her body, she was able to make icy arrows appear from thin air. Although it seems like she was a highly skilled archer, the arrows slightly missed the furball. Rubbing my eyes, I try to rationalize what I just saw from my classroom window. I often daydreamed in my classes so maybe all this daydreaming was really getting to me to the point that dreaming became effortless. Blinking, trying to wake up from my dream, I still see the girl and the furry creature in a desperate chase.
All of a sudden, the little creature came through the school window in order to hide behind me. Looking very scared, I felt sorry for it. Why was the girl going after it? How can she hurt such an adorable fluffy creature like this? As I looked down at the little creature behind me, it gave me these innocent puppy dog eyes. Looking into its gaze, I felt my heart melt. In that short moment, I felt the need to protect the little guy.
The girl later followed after it and stood on top of the school window sill. She had long snow-white hair and a small dainty pale face. On top of her chilling beautiful looks, she had icy blue eyes that gave off a strong glare. I noticed she wore a white skirt and a white military jacket that was adorned with beautiful badges.
“Move out of the way” she demanded with such a strong authority. Her tone of voice almost made me move but at the last second, I stood firm.
“You’re scaring the little guy.”
She looked at me with an intimidating glare “You don’t know what you're doing. You don’t know how dangerous it is.”
I looked back at the creature that looked terrified. “No, you’re wrong. Look at him he’s afraid.”
As I was about to pick it up, it suddenly bared it’s sharp fangs at me and bit me. Slightly wincing at the unexpected bite, I fell backward and moved away from it. At this very instant, the girl was able to lodge an icicle arrow through the little furball.
There was an unexpected chill that lingered through the classroom when she shot her arrow. I was able to see my cloudy breath as I exhaled. I shivered as she came down from the window sill to pick up the dead creature. She deposited it into her pocket and turned to me.
“Look at what you have done to yourself.” She suddenly grabbed my hand and pulled it towards her and inspected my bitten hand. She quickly let go and went into deep thought.
As I looked upon my hand there was a black aura that surrounded the bite mark. I started to panic. I didn’t know what’s going on and I didn’t know what was going to happen to me next.
As the girl looked back at me she sighed. In a sudden urgent rush, she took me into her arms and ran off out of the school window. She ran at an abnormally fast pace and jumped on the rooftops of the houses near my school. As I looked around me, the houses that we were passing were an unrecognizable blur. My straight dark brown hair and the wind was whipping across my face as she raced away.
“Where are you taking me too?” I was caught off guard by her actions.
“I’m taking you to a place that will fix that hand of yours and I’m going to ask the council what to do with you next.”
“The council?”
“Yes, the council.” She didn’t say anything more.

The girl suddenly stops at the edge cliff in an isolated nearby forest. She lets me down from her arms to a beautiful scene that unfolded before us. The golden sun was setting indicating that the day was almost over. We were able to see parts of the forest below us from our point of view. When I looked back at the girl, I saw her taking out a bunch of keys.
“What are you doing? There is not a car or even a door in sight.” I tried to explain to her that there is no use for her keys out here, but she ignored what I had to say.
She quickly closed her eyes and she suddenly floated up from the ground where she was standing at. As soon as she said a phrase in an unrecognizable language, her eyes reopened and shined bright blue lights. In an instant, a door materialized in front of her. She quickly came down to the ground as she closed her eyes and put one of the keys into the keyhole and open the door.
What stood behind the door was astounding, it was a large dimly lit meeting room. In the room was a medium-sized dog with a black and white tuxedo fur coat that standing on its hind legs. As we entered the room, the door suddenly swung shut and disappeared behind us. The room was round and it contained a large wooden table and chairs in the middle of the room. The walls were filled to the brim with countless books and interesting trinkets.
“That was pretty quick of you” the dog unexpectedly talked in front of us.
“You can talk!”
“Obviously, words are coming out of my mouth. Isn’t it?” the dog said as if it was normal for dogs to talk. The dog and the girl sat down at the table and I followed their action.
“What happened?” the dog questioned. The girl quickly answered “ I was trying to take out the target but this woman was in my way. She was trying to protect the monster from me but in return, she was attacked by it.” the dog gave me an irritating sharp glare after the girl gave it a short explanation. Feeling very guilty, I looked down at my hands and reflected on my mistake.
Eria took out the dead furball from her pocket confirming that she took out her target. The dog stood up and unexpectedly took out a wooden pipe from a drawer. “I don’t think it's a good idea for dogs to use those things”
“What do you know about what is good for me,” it said as bubbles drifted away out of the pipe.
I was dumbfounded.
I had often dreamt about a similar scenario even wished for it to happen, yet I didn’t expect to be this shocked. What I saw today was unfathomable. Whether it is seeing a mythical furry creature, a girl with strange powers, a door materializing from thin air, traveling to a different world, or a talking dog with a wooden pipe.
Noticing my bemused expression, the dog went up to me.
“You better get used to it human,” the dog said as it got up and took out a monocle to closely inspect my hand.
“Let Oscar know what’s happened. He will fix it.” directing the message towards the girl.
“Yes, Master” she replied.
Master huh? I guess the roles are reversed in this world, as I saw the girl bowing towards the dog.
I came out of my short thought as soon as I heard scurrying that quickly came towards the table. A little brown mouse came up towards us and it made me jump out of my seat. The little mouse smile towards me trying to calm me down as if it is trying to indicate it wasn’t a threat towards me. I try to relax at the sight of a mouse in the room.
“My name is Nibbles. It's nice to meet you” As she gave me an amicable smile. It was nice to have someone who was treating me in a respectable manner.
“Nibbles did you seal up the dimension scar that was open”
“ Yep, it was pretty hard to find. I eventually found a small scar in the forest. I went ...”
Nibbles was interrupted and a cat came in hunched over with bags under its eyes.
“Oh, there he is. Oscar, you need to look at her hand” Nibbles pointed towards me.
Oscar slowly swiped my hands into his paws and he pulled me. He inspected my hands that surrounded with a dark aura.
“It will be an easy fix” Oscar then pulled out a necklace out from his neck and laid it on top of my palms. The necklace then was able to produce a glowing green light that made my bite mark and the black mysterious aura to disappear.
“Wow that was amazing” I looked down at my healed hand.
‘Hmph, of course. My talents have never let me down.” Oscar said as he was reenergized from the praise and with a prideful look on his face look as he sat down with the others.
The dog started the meeting with the first statement “There are certainly more sightings of these monsters in the other world. For some unexplainable reason, there are dimension scars scattered around our world. We have to be careful as more monsters will be spilling out.” the dog put its paws under its chin.
“We have only one person who can eliminate them.” the dog looked at the girl and everyone’s gaze went towards her. “She is the only one with the dimension keys. At least we were able to seal the dimension scar that the furry monster had entered.” Nibbles gave an anxious squeak while Oscar had a worried look to his face.
“It seems that only monsters can enter into these dimension scars.”
“We can’t let her go by herself. It’s too much of a workload. She needs backup.” the dog was evidently worried at the dire situation that potentially more monsters will be spilling out into my world.
“We need someone capable enough to take on this task. Maybe we should also let Robbyn tag along with her.” Oscar stated and looked at the girl for some confirmation.
“WHAT, I object. I’m never going to work with her again. You remember what happened last time” the girl yelled across the room.
Trying to get away from the tension from the room, I stood up and started to walk around. I was looking at the little trinkets that were sitting on top of the shelves and intriguing leather-bound magic books. It was like walking around a museum but instead of art or artifacts, it was all filled with magical items. They were a lot of beautiful items within the room but one, in particular, caught my eye. A large dark gemstone that had a multicolor shine. Taken by the beauty of the stone, I touched it.
A blinding light suddenly appeared from the gem and later it dimmed. Everyone in the room suddenly directed their eyes towards me.
“What have you done!” the dog furiously barked at me.
Trying to defuse the dog’s anger Nibbles calmly talked back
“She didn’t know what would happen.”
Flustered at the situation, I was speechless.
“She shouldn’t have touched anything in this room.” the dog spat back.
“I’m sorry I didn’t know” I hurriedly said trying to appease the dog’s anger. Oscar jumped into the conversation “The paperwork. THE PAPERWORK! We need to report this incident and we now have to register her job application.” Oscar looked absolutely dejected and overworked.
“We already have people applying their papers anyway. So what? One more person applying. It’s just an application.” Nibbles rebutted trying to defend me.
“The problem is that she is an outsider. She has no knowledge of this world as it should have been. We were supposed to erase her memories and send her off to her own world. Now we can’t just let her leave and return to her normal life.” The dog huffed loudly in frustration. “Now there is no other way out of this. No other option than to accept her application.” Nibbles exclaimed.
The dog looked to the girl “You must be her instructor from now on. Tell her how this world functions and train her magic.”
Magic? I had Magic? How was I capable of using magic?”
The girl’s face turned into a grimace “But I already have enough on my plate..”
“I’m sorry but there is no helping it. You're the one I trust the most. My most talented protege. We can’t teach her with all this paperwork. The other members are out of town with their own quest. Look on the bright side you have a new student that can help you out on your journey.” the dog was trying to cajole her.
The girl reluctantly gave in “Yes, Master.”
“We will provide you with any magical equipment that you might need,” nibbles said trying to make our journey somewhat easier.
“This meeting is adjourned. Sorry, but we must go back to work.” Oscar was trying to wrap the meeting as fast as he can.
With a disheartened face, Eria nodded and pulled the hem of my shirt indicating me to follow her. We both walked out of the meeting room and hallway till we went out of the castle.
