Chapter 5: Captured
We come to a halt at the Castle, I peeked out the small hole in the jail box my mother and I were in and noticed guards standing near the entrance. Standing near the grand doors of the castle, arms crosses, was none other than Prince Eric, with a small smirk on his face. I glowered at him, seeing his very face made me sick to the stomach.
While I was pensive, the guards opened the door to the jail carriage. “ Come on, “ the guard exclaimed in a gravelly voice. He yanked on my mother's handcuffs, then mine and escorted us up the palace stairs where we were, greeted by Prince Eric.
“ Welcome back brat,” he smirked. “ He leaned in closer and whispered, “ My offer still stands.” I scowled and spat in his face.
"Tch, peasants," he scoffs underneath his breath, " Guards, take them with the others."
" Come on," the guard says in a gravelly voice, shoving me through the palace grand doors.
My mother and I were escorted in the palace's ballroom. The room had white marble floors, and a medium staircase in the back centered leading to the King and Queen thrones. We were lined up with other people facing the thrones. These people had looks of hopelessness and defeat on their faces. I assumed there were also "criminals". Soon Prince Eric waltzed within an arrogant facial expression and sat in the King's throne.
" Welcome one and all, to your execution," he smirked. From those words, one man among us started to quietly sob. Unfortunately, his cries were heard by the Prince. " You there," his voice boomed, " What's your name?"
" M-my name is Klein, majesty," he quivered
"Klein," he smirks, " I have a question for you, do you fear death?"
Klein gasps, " Y-" before he could even finish his sentence Klein was stabbed from behind by a guard. His body fell on the marble floor with a thud, blood formed a pool around him. Prisoners gasped, and some other prisoners wanted to move away from the blood but were afraid of the consequences for moving.
" Somebody get that cleaned up, I don't want a red peasant stain on my marble floors," he stated. A small maid scurried in with a mop and a scrubbing brush scrubbing away the blood quickly in a matter of seconds then scurrying out.
" Hmm, whose next," his eyes narrowed at me and he chuckled.
" Oh, Delilah, " he sang, " Sweet, sweet Delilah, come here." I stepped forwards towards the throne staircase. " Come up the stairs for me, you idiot." I scowled at him and did what I was told. Eric smirked at me once I was in range. " Why don't you have a seat for me, "I sat on the edge of the staircase. " How dumb can you possibly be! On the throne you twat!" I got up and sat in the Queens Throne, next to him.
" How does it feel be on top, above these peasants?"
" It is nice, majesty, " I answered, not looking in at him although I felt his stare.
" You know you are the most beautiful woman in the entire kingdom, even though you are among these peasants, I'll make you an exception," he runs his fingers through my hair, flinching from his touch. I wonder how I'll get myself out of this mess. After all that sword fighting, I still am a quivering girl when given the chance to attack.
" Guards, execute them all except for the old woman on the end. Take her, and my bride to a room and lock them in there for safe keeping," Guards grabbed my mothers and another grabbed me, escorting my mother and I to another room. As we turned our backs all we could hear were bloodcurdling screams and squelching.
