The group, moved deeper into the station as the water leveled out to a few centimeters above the warehouse floors. The warehouse held dump trucks and other mobile submarines should some unfortunate event occur.
Personnel occupied a security booth watching all activity outside steel doors. There was around the clock surveillance to prevent unwanted occurrences. Each floor of the Aquatic station was the size of three New York City blocks. Everyone here could live for a year without ever having to leave for food.
A total of sixty-one people stayed in this underwater habitation. Twenty-eight of them were kids ranging from one to twenty. They are the new generation of drifters. Some were brought here days, sometimes months after birth. Never to see the surface of the earth again. That was the most important part of the plan.
Fourteen boys of different races lived in a dorm together, as the girls of different races lived in the dorm on the other side of the station. No distractions were allowed, and once the doctors were satisfied with the kids' abilities they were allowed into a lounge to chat with the population.
Children were trained and taught six different languages and how to read them all. English for the simple fact that once they’ve mastered their level of rage, and could control it they would be privileged to view edited American television.
Two separate gyms were provided for all staff and kids. No teachers were provided for them to train properly. Special training and exercise videos are played on monitors all around the children's gym. Weights, basketball court, tennis and racquetball court, could easily be seen from the center of the gym.
A sparring ring and dojo, located in another part of the station was for more advanced students. Competitions were held as the children were paired to test their abilities. Fight scenes were edited from certain movies to teach them a strategy.
The Aquatic station a total of seven floors. One of them is called the basement. Machines that produced everything from power to hot and cold water that supplied the station was position there. Heating and cooling units ran recycled clean air to each room in the station.
It took two years to build the Aquatic station. There was no time for mistakes. Since the opening night, the Aquatic station hasn't had one issue with leaks or electricity. That was over twenty years ago. Only changes have been upgrades to machines and computers.
There was another station located in the Nevada desert twice the size of the Aquatic station. The only difference between the two was the capacity. Over two hundred lived there. One hundred and forty-eight of them were children and teenagers.
There were a lot of rejects when dealing with mind control. The medical facilities knew who was capable and strong enough when the children were in the beginning stages of trials. By the time a kid turns three or four, if there was any doubt of lucid dreaming or further advancements, the kid was released on the doorsteps of an orphanage. The orphanage would then listen to the crazy stories and fantasies the little one would stress over and over.
Authorities would be notified, a news clipping would air, and a week from now the situation would've ended, without so much of a concern from anyone.
A month later the child would be in a new home on the opposite side of the world where they were originally kidnapped.
The Nevada station had problems, in the beginning, trying to find gifted children.
Above the basement laid an entire floor called the black room. There were no doors or windows in the room. The entire room was designed with walls two feet thick. The ceiling was fifty feet high, nothing else is visible. In order to enter this room, one had to have the capabilities to drift.
In the black room teachers trained with the more advanced students. They disciplined, fought, and put the students to the ultimate test. Survival. Students then fought each other with a coach to stop any serious injury from occurring.
Depending on how strong the students are the rest of the station could feel the vibrations from the battle.
Another floor up was the white room. Prestaged drifters learned to train themselves on moving through objects. Achieving access through the walls of the black room was complicated to most in the beginning. The white room allowed them to practice on that feat.
The medical section consisted of two floors for those who went into a state of confusion, disability, coma or lost in their own little world. Some subjects tried too hard to figure out their skills, like life and why certain events happen.
Called rebels, the staff would have to keep a closer eye on them for the fear that they would realize there's so much more than the station they were accustomed to.
Those subjects would either be terminated or would be forced to abide by the committee’s guidelines. It was impossible for anyone to escape from that depth under the oceans waters. One out of twenty-five would usually wander, only to soon realize their mistake and pledge loyalty to the committee.
They are constantly reminded that the two stations are home. There is nothing else.
The Nevada station, known as Shanslen was still being worked on, and Frank Ward knew this. The money from the cargo heist still wasn't enough to finish Shanslen and the main headquarters located in Kentucky.
Sylvan is the primary location for emergency meetings and to set new agendas. There hasn't been an emergency since the beginning of the operation. Everyone knew it was impossible to be caught.
“You can't catch what you cant see,” Bane preached years ago to build confidence with the committee. After a series of test and events using their subjects, they became true believers.
Of all the committee members, six control the Shanslen station, and the last three have power in the government. One on the board with the USA Today Newspaper. Another on CNN news to make sure nothing about their dealings got past her. The last one was in the White House. He was the most important. America was an unstable influential part of the world.
Bane wouldn't have a man on the inside if he could drift through himself anytime. There were a group of drifters that were already there that protected the President from other travelers that intruded.
These unknown skilled drifters surveillance the perimeter around the White House twenty-four hours a day, switching shifts.
Bane had tested the security by sending six of his subordinates to kill the president. Before they could get within a hundred feet of the gates they were killed by the protectors after several warnings to stop and turn around. He was confused in the beginning as he watched them be slaughtered.
“Who are they?” Bane had questioned himself many years ago. “Does the White House know of drifters?” He had to know. The committee’s mission would be a waste if the government knew.
Bane traveled the world, Surveilling other political leaders curious to if they held the same protection as the president. In the beginning, he noticed nothing.
After a month he decided to send a subordinate into the pope's kingdom. His subject, a young Carlos was quickly stopped and questioned with no issues. He told the interrogators that he was just site seeing.
Two more attempts in Europe and Russia turned up with the same results. Nothing was making any sense. The world should know something if everyone he’s encountered had the protection of a drifter.
Bane put a plan together that he knew would take time. It took three years to get a man in the White House as one of the president's advisors. He used the time to strengthen his committee and better train his drifters.
His connection in the White House, Travis McNeely vouches that the White House knows nothing of the unseen forces protecting the grounds.
“Everyone has secrets here,” McNeely claimed in a meeting, “it would be hard to figure them all out.”
Bane knew the White House had secrets. He only cared about one. Drifters. If the White House knew, then he wanted to know everything they knew. If they trained their men or women as the committee does? If so, where and how? He admitted then that the drifters protecting the White House were strong.
The other protectors of the world were good but not as good as the White House. He knew he could take two on at the same time, but his manna would be too low to make it back to his body after those bouts. Every drifter had their limits, which is why he is concerned about Bousha right now.
