We raced out the kingdom knowing I was going to be hunted down by the Prince for what I did. My mother followed behind me as we hid in the shadows of the alley.
“ There are soldiers everywhere! “ my mother exclaimed.
“ I know, I know. “ I thought for a moment. “ Maybe, we could flee to another kingdom? “
“ Another kingdom we probably won’t find one for miles! “
“ Well, do you want me to leave you here. I will if I have too. Just know you will be questioned of my whereabouts and maybe even punished for my crime.”
I saw my mother get scared of the thought. “ Alright Delilah, but let me ask you a favor. Let’s visit your father one last time when we leave. “
I nodded my head and we ran to the master's house hoping no guards will be there.
We arrive at the master’s house, although I should be saying former masters house. I see Father in front of the house doing yard work as always and I check to see if there were any guards surrounding the area. We approach father with caution and call out his name of quietly. We catch his attention. ” Father, are there any guards around? ” I asked quietly, Father shook his head no. My mother and I walked up to father and hugged my father, starting to sniffle.
” Why do you cry my daughter? ” he asked.
” We will have to leave Boheme, Father. The prince was trying was harassing me and I fought back.”
My father looked at me, "Delilah you shouldn't be upset about fighting back you did what's right.”
More tears trickled down my cheeks as he said this. ”We must leave now John, Delilah let's go.” I let go of my father and we all started walking into a forest of an unknown future. We walked in the forests for what seemed hours and continued walking away from the setting sun.
As we continued walking it was dark and we starting noticing faint little lights in the distance of the woods. The little lights seemed almost like stars. “ Mother, “ I tapped my mother “ Do you see that in the distance? “ She looked as if she was squinting to see the lights.
“ Yes, I see the lights."
“ Well, come on! Father lets go! “ I exclaimed, grabbing my mother's hand and practically sprinting, but slow enough for her. We arrived at a small village. “ Mother, Father“ my eyes gleamed, “ I think we made it out of Boheme!” I approached a young man, who was carrying a barrel, with the words bourbon on it. “ Kind sir, is this village part of the Kingdom of Boheme?”
The man raised an eyebrow, “ Boheme? Boheme is miles away from us, this madam is the kingdom of Zoricus. “
My eyes grew wide. “ Did you hear that! This is the Kingdom of Zoricus! We made it out!” I rejoiced with my mother.
My mother sighed in relief. Father hugged my mother, " We're finally free," he said teary-eyed
“ I never thought I would escape Boheme, and now we’re here in Zoricus. “ my mother said as a tear drop from her face. “ Thank you, Delilah, from freeing us, I just hope things will be good for us from now on, “ She said gazing off into the distance.
