Eros laughed, both at my brother's exuberance and at the fact that I was hanging in his brother's arms. “Hello, I'm Eros, your guide in all things magical.” He winked at Chill. I kid you not, winked.
Hades's brother was flirting with mine. I was pretty sure there was an innuendo hidden somewhere in the guy's words too. Then again, with a name like that, you almost expect him to be a flirt. My brother was completely oblivious, of course.
Chill did a fist pump like a total dork, but made it look cool, because life can't be fair and leave him looking like the dork he really was. He grabbed Eros by the edge of his white leather jacket and pulled him towards the house, “let's go, I have so many questions!”
“Eros, that's my brother, Achilles!” I yelled from my place in the air.
Achilles stopped in his tracks and turned to glare at me. “Et tu, sister?” He spit out before turning to Eros, “If you call me that, we can't be friends. Call me Chill.”
Eros gently removed Chill's fist from his leather jacket and held my brother's hand between his. He pumped his hands up and down a couple of time, “it's a pleasure to meet you, Chill.” Eros's amusement was evident in his grin.
Chill looked back at me and stuck his tongue out then grinned in triumph. I flipped him off, which was ignored. The two of them went inside the house, and I was still being held off the ground by Hades.
“Are you ever going to put me down? I've lost count at how many times you've done this to me today.” I patted his arms to signal he could put me down any time.
“I've been debating putting a spell on you to force everyone to stay at least five feet away from you, but then I realized most of the times you've needed to be picked up are because of you, not other people, so now I'm considering putting an upright spell on you, but then you wouldn't be able to lay down.” His deep voice rumbled against my back.
“What? There isn't an anti-trip spell?” That seemed rather ridiculous. That would be one of the first spells I'd have created if I were a magic user- wait, I am a magic user. Huehuehue. Look out world, I was going to have some fun with that!
He sat me back on my feet before replying. “No. For some reason, it always causes more tripping instead of less.”
“Somehow, I'm not surprised.” I dusted myself off, not like getting picked up by a sexy mountain of a grumpy magic user got me dirty. Yeah... don't go there. I decided it was time to distance myself from that line of thought, literally. I began to walk away.
The line of thought followed me, much to my dismay. Okay, yeah, I didn't mind at all. “So... you're going to be my teacher, and Eros, the flirty Legolas lookalike, is going to be Chill's?”
“Yes, someone has to be your voice of reason.” The guy had his arms crossed and looked like he'd tasted something sour.
Well, fluck him! His demeanor just made me want to make things harder for him. I opened my mouth to give him a piece of my mind at the same time my feet betrayed me and I tripped on a dip in the lawn. I fell forward and smacked hard onto the ground. It flucking hurt! “Where were you?” I asked him as I sat up, more bruised pride than bruised body.
He smirked, even as he helped me stand. “You acted like you didn't like me interfering with your fight with gravity.”
I pulled my hair out of my face and tried not to look to closely at all the dead pieces of grass that now littered my hair. No matter how much I washed or brushed it, I'd still be finding pieces of it for days! “Fluck that! Next time you see me fighting gravity, you have my permission to save me from my own stupidity!”
