Coral walked down the street from his elementary school, clutching his school bag close to him. He could hear foot steps behind him and was too afraid to turn around and confront whoever was supposedly following him. Suddenly, he heard the foot steps rush more and he tried running but was soon caught up with by one of his bullies. The kid punched his face multiple times then kicked him into a nearby alleyway where he looked up at a hooded man. Coral then noticed the man's hand was bleeding and there was a knife next to him on the floor.
"sir, are you ok?" the young boy asked, getting up and brushing himself off as he looked around the dark, narrow alleyway.
"yeah, kid, what's it to you? shouldn't you be getting home?" the man looked down at Coral, obviously knowing what had just happened to him.
"Can I help you? Come to my house with me, please." Coral looked at the man, imploringly. He noticed the man wasn't very old and was wearing a black hoodie, almost like a cloak.
"I don't think your parents would be okay with that. I'm a stranger and I hate kids." The man looked away a little bashfully.
"oh, please. I don't think you'll do anything bad to me, just come." Coral had started pulling on the black sleeve of the hand that wasn't bleeding.
"Fine." The man let the younger boy lead him to his house which was quite small. It was an apartment with popcorn walls, a hard wooden floor and barely any furniture. "Hey, what about your parents?"
"My mom's at work. I don't have a dad."
"Oh."
"She works at a hospital and taught me some stuff so you can trust me to help you." Coral brought out a first aid box and led the man to sit on a stool. "Can you push your sleeve back please?" The man hesitantly pushed his sleeve back to reveal a skeletal arm. "Cool tattoo!"
Instead of deciding to dodge his true identity the man replied with, "it's not a tattoo."
"How?"
"I am Death." Coral then laughed as the man just watched him tie the bandage around his hand and up his arm. When they were done the man stood up and walked to the door. "Thank you." He bent down and kissed Coral on the head in gratitude.
"Your welcome, bye Death." Coral giggled.
"That's not my name but I must go now, bye." with that, the man took off his hood, winked at the kid then walked away.
Coral closed the door missing the comment the man then said, "damn, this kid was real innocent. I guess I can't hate all kids." He laughed to himself as he went into another alleyway and took off his hoodie revealing a beautiful skeletal body that he didn't bother to change tonight. He then walked through an invisible sheet of glass letting him jump down through a whole into his kingdom.
Ever since then Coral had thought of Death. He thought of Death's face mainly. It was so handsome. He never told anyone about his encounter. He grew up and soon enough forgot about Death only parts of him were stuck in the back of his memory. By high school barely anything about Death was in his head.
He had totally forgotten Death at 17 but then was reminded of him by the face of a new teacher. This new teacher had a similar face to the man Coral had met all those years ago, when he was just an unknowing, sweet child. He couldn't remember who the face belonged to but he knew he liked that face. He became friends with the person with the face of Death but this man was a teacher, he wasn't Death, they weren't friends for long. He was a bad man. After becoming friends with Coral he tried making moves on him making Coral nervous and then one day when Coral was caught off guard the man raped him in the classroom when everyone except Coral had left. Coral not knowing what to do had just cried during the whole thing. Even though he had discovered he was gay by then he couldn't like it especially since this was forced and with a man he now hated it was worse since this man was the one to take his virginity.
Coral transferred schools after that, luckily he still had great grades and no one ever tried anything with him. He soon learned through an ex-boyfriend why people did things like raping and abusing him like that. It was because his face was too pretty. He was bullied for it because people were jealous and was raped because of his beauty. Coral tried doing things to his face to make it less desirable but he couldn't cover up how pretty his face was with his soft skin, elegant posture, perfect features, sharp jawline, cat like heterochromic eyes, one eye being violet even and the other being light blue, and his hair being a nice blonde color which he soon dyed black, not for an emo phase.
Thanks to Coral's good grades and unfortunately good looks he got a great job but people there still abused him in many ways making him want to quit but he had to stay because he got good pay to keep him and his mother alive even though he had moved out, he still had to help his mom.
Coral's life just got worse and worse until the point he just couldn't take it anymore.
