"Why have we stopped moving?" Micheal asked Zach. "Shhh!" He shushed as he pointed into the distance. "Look." he whispered. In the distance was a large camp, filled with soldiers. "Those are the same damn people that wiped out our base, lost me my right hand man, and the reason my son's missing!" Zach yelled. Micheal watched him worried as he physically watched Zach begin to fume. "Well guess what. We're going to have some fun." Zach smirked. He raised his sword and pointed it toward the camp. Micheal gulped. "MEN TO BATTLE!!!" Zach screamed. Hundreds of soldiers behind him all roared battle cries. Zach began to climb down the mountain side they were perched on began to raid the camp. Sirens went off as Zachary's men ran into battle. He ran up to a man, and jammed his sword directly into his chest. The man cried and fell to the ground. A crowd of enemies surrounded Zach. He smiled as he raised two guns from his pocket. "Ten to one, eh? You guys better say your prayers." Zach bragged. The men pulled out shotguns. Zach ran up to one man and jumped on top of him and jumped upward from, blasting bullets into his skull. He landed on top of a tent and shot down two more of the men. He flipped off of the tent and threw his guns into the air and withdrew his axe. The men continued to open fire toward Zach, but all he did was laugh as he ran up to a man, and sliced their head clean off. He then threw his head into the face of someone else. He reached his hands up and caught the two shotguns, and rolled out of the way of some more gunshots. He then proceeded to shoot the remainder of the men. Zach laughed. Suddenly a man with a bow and arrow walked out of a tent. He smirked. "Zachary Kilfer!" He chuckled. Zach looked at him menacingly. "Where's Gregory? What could have happened to him, G and Z the unstoppable duo?" He yelled. Zach threw down his guns. "Wasting ammo on you would be a waste." Zach spat. He withdrew his broadsword. He let go of his arrow and it whipped toward Zach. He jumped out of the way and ran up to the archer, and punched him in the face. "DIE!!" Zach screamed. He grabbed the bow and chucked it far away. He stabbed the archer in the gut. He gasped loudly as he fell to the ground. "I.....Killed him, Zach....I, will.....finally...be...." He gasped before kicking the bucket. "Good Riddance." Zach said. He looked over and saw utter chaos. Men killing men and vice versa. Zach picked up his guns, and withdrew his bloodied axe. "Today you all meet your DEAD END!" Zach yelled, as he charged.

I woke up, with my face buried in my book. I looked around groggily into the dark abyss of the library. It seemed almost peaceful, despite what I had witnessed only a day ago. I slowly stood up from my resting spot. My leg was sore from me laying on it, which didn't help the fact that it already hurt from falling down that cliff. I wanted to go check on Marley, Terrence, and Thimble, but I was worried what would happen if I myself were to be caught, would I be beat too? Or worse? I played it safe and stayed put until someone came for me. The boredom was insufferable. I sat there for an hour before something happened. I heard noise from the darkness, toward where the secret door was. Marley emerged from the shadows. She smiled at me. "Hey Moo!" Marley greeted excitedly. I was caught off guard by her enthusiasm. "Moo?" I asked very confused. "Yeah like a cow, you have seen a cow before, right?" Marley asked mockingly. "Yes I have." I answered unamused. I couldn't believe how normal she was acting, considering yesterday’s events. "Let's go make breakfast silly." Marley announced. She grabbed my hand and dragged me through the dark path, towards the secret hallway to the mansion. We entered the normal hallway, and Marley lead me to the dining room. I looked over to my hiding wall, and saw that the shelf was still on the ground. She dragged me through the door where Thimble went to prepare food yesterday. We entered a huge grand kitchen. Stoves, sinks, ovens, they had everything. She dragged me to a closet, and removed a bag of batter. "Let's make pancakes!" Marley announced excitedly." Marley yelled. I looked at her confused, something I realized was per the norm now. "Pancakes?" I asked not knowing what that was. She looked at me with a blank face. "You don't know what pancakes are!?!?" She shouted.
I slowly nodded my head. She showed me how to put the batter in frying pans, and cook them. She showed me the syrup, and utensils used to eat the food. She finished cooking. We brought the food to the table. They smelled amazing. "Hey I need to grab some cloths, could you get Terrence, and he should be in his room, its right down the hall to the left." Marley announced. I nodded and started heading down the hallway.
I headed down the hallway, and eventually I came to a door. I slowly opened it and found myself in yet another bedroom. I explored the room. There was a huge bed on the edge of the room, covered in brown blankets. I was tempted to lay on it, but I had a mission. I crept around, and found another door. Inside was a large closet, there I found Terrence. He had some brown paint, and was trying to cover his green hair. "Hey, you want some food?" I asked. I looked at me startled, not realizing I had entered the room. He looked sad. "What are we eating...?” He muttered. "Pancakes." I replied. He slowly placed the dirtied paint brush into the pail, and rose up. We both walked over to the table. Marley stared at Terrence's dripping hair, and remained silent. She served the pancakes, and gave me instructions. It was amazing, I hadn't had a meal like that in, ever! Even Terrence looked a little more cheery. Pancakes are apparently the answer to depression. Marley rose from the table. "Hey guys! I have this old camera downstairs, let's go get and mess around!" Marley suggested. I looked at her funnily, again. "Camera?" Terrence, and Marley erupted in laughter. We walked to the main doors, which I had entered originally. They lead me to a dark door to the side.
We opened it, and revealed a giant staircase to an old staircase. We slowly walked down them. It was extremely dark Marley stuck out her hand and fire emerged from it. She guided the fireball toward some torches laid on the walls and lit up the basement. It was just like the book I had been reading. The basement, was filled with cobwebs and boxes everywhere. Marley directed us to a particular dusty box and began reaching into it. She pulled out a dusty tripod, and an extremely old looking primitive camera, you know like the ones that have a cord on them, that you pulls, then it develops a picture from the other side. She set it up, while Terrence and I watched. She then walked in front of it and told us to stand beside her. "What is happening?" I asked her. "Watch." She said. For a brief second her eyes flashed dark, and for some odd reason, this made me smile, so far everything about Marley made me happy. I wondered how she knew all these things, and how much she'll teach me while I was here. My thoughts of imagination were interrupted when a big flash of white blinded my vision. I rubbed my eyes. "What the?" I stated dazed. Marley ran over to the camera. She grabbed a piece of paper from the device.
She seemed a little surprised, when two more pieces of paper emerged. She caught them before they fell to the ground. "Odd, usually only one copy emerges." Marley exclaimed. Terrence and I walked over to her. She handed Terrence and I a piece of paper. I gasped. It was a picture. There was me standing beside Terrence, and Marley. "This is a picture!" I exclaimed excitedly. Terrence looked over a me, some of his paint beginning to drip off, revealing his green hair. "Oh, you know about pictures?" Terrence asked, annoyed at some paint dripping on his nose. "Yeah my dad had a picture of mom, and I'd look at it all the time as a kid." I announced. I suddenly felt a little sad. "I hope dad gets back soon." I continued. I went to give Marley her picture back, but she stopped me. "Mortemer, keep it, it's yours." She replied sympathetically. "Okay." I replied placing it into my pocket.
We began to head back upstairs. When we walked into the main hall, we were met with Thimble coming through the main doors. "Oh I see you have awaken Mortimer." Thimble greeted. He had bags under his eyes, and looked extremely tired. "Dad! The green goop wouldn't come off!" Terrence yelled. Thimble looked over at him and frowned. "Putting paint on your head will not help Terrence!" Thimble yelled sounding very annoyed.
There was a moment before Thimble sighed. "I can probably help with that though..." Thimble groaned. Thimble motioned for us to follow him, and we walked up the stairs to a second floor. He walked into another bedroom, and placed his palm on the wall. The opened up, and revealed another path. How many secrets does this mansion have? We stepped into a lit, nice tidy room. "This is dad's private study." Marley whispered into my ear. I nodded as we approached a large desk. Thimble opened a drawer and removed a book. "Okay let's try this." Thimble mumbled, as he opened a massive book. "Let's see.... Reapers wings....fireballs, curses, Invisibility..." Thimble read. "Here we go." Thimble read out loud. "It appears we need some materials. They can be found from the woods, but I can't go get them right now, I'm a little preoccupied keeping a certain spell going for the moment." Thimble sighed as he returned the book. "What! But my hair!" Terrence yelled. "LATER." Thimble demanded. He left the room. Marley looked over at her brother sadly as she watched him storm off. "Common let's go." Marley said. I nodded. As I exited the room I noticed that a bunch of papers were in a garbage can. "Hang on wait." I said. Marley looked back at me. I grabbed some of the paper from the can. "Whoa." I muttered. Stuff was written hastily.
I began to read it. In my research I've possibly discovered something extraordinary. Let me propose the fact of multiple dimensions. Let me explain. For millennium our people have told stories of four beings. The Connector, The good fortune, and The Bad Fortune, and the Nameless watcher. They are said to come from a different realm. Now this is all the stories from our people way before we as a species began to die out, but we have never taken to creating lies. Well...mostly. I believe that The Bad Fortune has possibly returned, in the form of The Nightmare. As far to my people's knowledge, there are no angels native to our land, and am I to believe this monster is from the heavens? No. This creature must be a reincarnation of The Bad Fortune, for it appeared and caused instant suffering. This creature is not of our realm. The only way that I could be wrong is if there was no motive. Otherwise why would a creature from another plain of existence even be here? Perhaps this is a punishment for our sins? No. Our land was beautiful, and if so why is it only focusing on our content? Sure it’s effected faraway lands like Estern, but not intentionally. There HAS to be a reason. It could not be doing these horrible things, for no reason... can it? It stopped there. On it was a detailed image of a heavily cloaked figure with huge angelic wings. There was a diagram of circles, one with our home written on it, with arrows connecting other circles. "Moo, don't touch dad's stuff." Marley warned. I nodded and put it back in the trash.
