I obliged and swiftly walked over to the wall. Thimble's eyes turned dark and the wall flipped me onto the other side. I was in a dark square room with no exit. The wall that had finished flipping me must have had magical properties, for I could clearly see the dining room through the wall, but nobody could see through it on the other side. Suddenly a scraggly dressed brown haired women walked inside the dining room. Thimble cleared his throat. "Oh, honey your back so soon from your walk!" Thimble responded. The women looked at Thimble dazed. "Yup! I got tired, heh." She giggled. "Is that so love?" Thimble replied awkwardly. She looked over to Marley. "When you get older.....get a handsome man, who likes to get down with you!" She laughed, as she pointed toward Thimble. Marley chuckled nervously. Then her gaze met with Terrence, who had been sitting there panicking in a cold sweat. "...Terr bear...?" She asked confused. "Hi mother..." Terrence responded. Her drunk smile disappeared, and turned to a cold frown.
"You, you ran away...that's VERY naughty of you." she said menacingly. She slowly walked over to Terrence. Marley covered her eyes. "I believe that you should be....PUNISHED." Terrence rose up horrified. She rose her hand and slapped Terrence In the face. He fell down clutching his face. "You deserve this sweetie!" She yelled. Terrence remained in a cradle position. "GET UP YOU BABY!" She screamed. Terrence slowly rose. She punched him in the stomach. Terrence fell over in pain and rose back up slowly. "HA! YOU’RE SO EASY!" She laughed. She grabbed Terrence and whipped him across the dinner table, knocking over plates. He slid over to the other side of the room. I watched in agony as Terrence laid in pain. He was so close to my wall. She walked over to Terrence and lifted him back up. She pinned him under the shelf. “NEVER RUN AWAY AGAIN." She growled. Terrence nodded crying. She smiled as she punched him in the face. She backed up as the shelf above Thimble broke and spilled on him. His brown hair caught most of the liquid. It dyed his hair a bright green color. He fell onto the ground. He laid there in a puddle of green and a bloody red, from a nose bleed. I looked away. She walked over to Thimble. "The nerve of some people, right?" she laughed.

I had stayed in my hiding wall for hours. I lost complete track of time. The dining room was covered with shadows. I felt horrible about what I had witnessed, the scene kept playing over and over like a sick joke within my mind. Being in a small room for hours with nothing to do didn't help either. Suddenly the wall began to flip slowly. I was half asleep when it happened, and almost jumped out of my skin. It was hard to tell but I saw that it was Marley In the darkness. "Follow me." She whispered. I nodded and followed her. She seemed to know exactly where to go, despite not being able to see anything at all. She led me to a wall, and she willed it to reveal a passage. We walked inside, and she closed the wall. What little light we had before was now completely gone. "Dad says you can stay one more night, since it would be impossible to get you out of here tonight.” Marley whispered. I nodded, not that It mattered, since it was so dark. "Mom was not always like that you know...." Marley breathed as we began to walk through the chilling hallway. "Years and years ago, before I was born, Dad and Mom were quite the lovely couple, but that was before she grew suspicious of him. The town folk soon began to realize that Terrence was a witch, and wished to hang him. And eventually Mom realized too. She accused him of being evil and broke his heart. Driven to almost complete madness dad used a very bad spell, and warped mom's mind to forget what she discovered."
Marley explained. I nodded slowly not quite piecing together everything she said. "The town folk chased them into the forest, and they disappeared. Dad built this mansion with powerful magic, and has kept the true path to it hidden, there was one problem though, Mom. She was and still is his one true love... but the spell drove her mad. Every day he uses magic to make her go on a "walk" to the town and make rounds, so she'll never discover our secrets. She likes to get drunk on her little imaginary walks too, and yesterday she came home early, something that has never happened before." Marley explained. "I'm....sorry." I apologized, not sure of what though. "It's Okay." She breathed slightly more menacingly. We reached the library. "Stay here until one of us gets you tomorrow morning." Marley demanded. I nodded, and she gave me a smile, before heading back into the shadowy hallway. I laid down where I slept the night before and continued reading where I left off yesterday in my fire book.
