As soon as he woke up he was in an immediate panic and I heard him crashing through my house. Sighing I followed the noise carrying a couple coffee cups watching my step over things that had been knocked over. Soon I found him beating on the front door trying to get it open but to no avail.
“Let me the fuck out of here. Now!” he demanded glaring at me with those fiery red eyes. He returned to jiggling and pulling on the door handle. He then went to the glass and went to break it.
“I wouldn’t do th-“ I was cut off by his hand hitting the window then it bounced back as if it was reflected. “I tried to warn you but your being impatient.. Here’s coffee” I offered him the cup “Lets sit down and talk about this please..” I asked pleadingly.
He promptly knocked the cup out of my hand sending it crashing to the floor then he pinned me back against a wall by the door. “What the hell is going on here?!?” He looked around his expression showing panic and confusion.
I reached up grabbing his face forcing him to look at me and I spoke softly “Lets sit down and I will explain..” I grabbed his hand and pulled him gently to the living room sipping on my coffee. I sat him on the couch then I sat opposite of him on a chair across the room. We sat in silence for a few minutes the only noise cutting the room was me sipping on my coffee.
“Soooo…. Are you gonna talk or..??” He commented watching me very carefully obviously on edge. Who could blame him. A man posing to be a male escort confronted him in a dark alley behind his work then all of a sudden he woke up in a strange house with this strange man. I’d freak out too if I were him. So I set my cup on a side table and sat back watching him for a little longer. I had removed his jacket so he could sleep better and I was admiring his arms. He was a mess of old needle injection sites from elicit substances and slices on his wrists. This poor boy was in need of a helping hand and I’m happy that someone reached out to me before it was too late..
I cleared my throat and sat up straight. “My name is Nathaniel as you know. I’ve taken you to my house and have put up a barrier to make sure you stay here till you sober up.. Your mother was a close friend of a friend of mine and she got ahold of me to try and help you out..” I watched him looking for some kind of reaction.
He leaned back looking irritated. “What makes that woman think she has any right to meddle in my life!” Looking defeated he laid his head back on the couch closing his eyes. Like any drug addict he soon started to itch and scratch. His body was looking for its fix and in my house he wasn’t going to find it..
I got up and took off my shirt then relaxed closing my eyes and a set of pure white wings extended slowly from my back. Appearing out of almost no where and the boy jumped in panic when he saw them. I moved over toward him slowly and he backed away to the other end of the couch.
“Why are you doing this for her? Huh? You barely know her, you barely know me, why bother…” His eyes started to tear up as he looked up at me.
I folded my wings back behind me and sat on the arm of the couch looking down at him. “Honestly I didn’t want to deal with this.. I’ve got enough on my plate as it is but she asked me to at least check on you..” I sighed softly and moved closer to him. “Then I saw you in that alley way and thought I bet I could get him into bed..” I grinned looking at him to see if I got a rise out of him. I succeeded getting a twitch in his lips from him trying to hide a smile and instead got smacked on the arm hard. Chuckling I continued “Well I really saw you for who you were.. I saw a man trying to save lives while destroying his own and that broke my heart so I really do want to help. I promise.” I held my hand to my heart watching him.
