Lee never liked wearing clothes at a young age. Of course that is normal for little kids to hate wearing clothes, and it looks cute when they are two or three, but when they are eight, it’s not so cute anymore. At school, Lee would often pull off his shoes and go barefoot. To stop him, the teacher tried duct taping his shoes to his feet.
Well, that just made things worse because then he wanted to take them off even more, not to mention it was a real pain to have the tape stuck on when he wanted a bath.
Oh, it was not just his shoes he would pull off at school. If a teacher left him alone even for a minute, he would strip down. Once a teacher left to go to the bathroom and found him naked in the ball pit (the kind similar to McDonald’s play area). That was quite a sight, not to mention the teacher had to dig around in the ball pit looking for Lee’s clothes that were at the bottom.
One time when we went to a lake called Mint Springs, Lee disappeared to the changing room. I had a feeling I should follow him, so I waited for him outside the door. Sure enough, when Lee came out of the changing room, he was not wearing his swim trunks anymore. As Dad would say, “there was nothing on but the radio!” All Lee was wearing was a smile on his face as he started walking to the lake. “Nice try” I told him, as I turned him around to get his swim trunks back on. A little girl, who was also standing by the changing room probably waiting for her dad, let out a scream when she saw him. Fortunately, she was the only one. I felt bad for her. I am sure that was a shock. I hope he did not scar her for life. If he did, we did not stick around long enough to find out.
During New Year’
During New Year’s, we invited my cousin Carter and her friend from college to come to our party. At one point, Lee went up to take one of his many baths. Then he came down an hour later covered in nothing but bubbles. I saw him come down the stairs then turn into another room, but I did not think much of it at the time. We were all family, so we were used to Lee’s putting on these little peep shows for us. I forgot that my Cousin Carter’s friend had never been here before and was about to get a big surprise when she turned around. I’ll never forget when I heard her say, “Oh Hi!”
