Cypher's Dream World - Dokyeom
Let’s see, how do I work these crystals again?
I finished recording the duel and manage to stop recording but I had completely forgotten how to send the footage to Cyph. Oh, I have to press this. I guess I should put in an extra message for Cyph- Cyph. After my darling Sen began having her nightmares I had been trying to get in contact with Cypher to tell her about them, but of course when I actually kind of need to tell her something she is ‘Unavailable’.
“Hey Lame oh,” I shouted.
“What?” He asked, obviously irritated that I won the argument from earlier.
“Cyph-Cyph was in your lab right dearest Lame oh?”
“Y-yes?” He nodded cautiously.
“Welp. She isn’t answering her crystal so I guess we are going to go on an adventure to where the greatest and all mightiest Cypher is.”
“But Master, Ohies’ lab is almost three days away,” Sen said as she approached me.
“Yes well, dearest Sen, this is something importante!”
“Oh.”
We began our travel to Cypher with Sen singing the entire way as she does when she has nothing better to do. Lame Oh’s lab is in a small town called Jeju; we, however, are close to the capital Nyambe. I called out the guidance slave once more so that we don’t get lost on the way there.
Now you may be wondering, but Dokyeom, you can fly and Sen can fly! Why don’t you just fly there? Well, so you see, I don’t want to. Flying takes a lot of effort to not run out of magic for the day or drift too far or if there's a breeze. I simply hate it. Sen on the other hand never walks. Actually, the only time she ever makes contact with the ground is when she sleeps and floats everywhere else. Also, Lame oh is incapable of flying so we can’t go the quick route.
We walked for a long while before reaching the woods that we needed to pass through to reach Jeju. The thing about these woods is that even though this is an alternate dimension, Cyph- Cyph decided it was a ‘good idea’ to put a metric ton of monsters here to help train our Estudiantes. And that's all fine and dandy, however, Cyph- Cyph decided it was a good idea to put really powerful monsters that only she and I could handle.
“Master I see an enemy approaching,” Sen said looking at me cautiously.
“Augh, why did Cyph-Cyph do this?” I said with a sigh.
“Are you going to do something?” Lame oh asked.
“Yea Yea…” I mumbled. I took a huge deep breath, and yelled as loud as my vocal cords could muster, “AAHH!”
“Wha-” Lame oh took a step back from me, “why are you screaming all of a sudden?”
“Just watch, Lame oh,” I said as I picked up a rock and tossed it at the monster. The monster wailed in pain then quickly collapsed. “See?”
“... I see,” Lame oh said in surprise.
Every now and again I had to create some super loud noise to increase all the senses of the monsters around and shoot fire at them. It was incredibly tedious.
After days of walking through the woods, we finally managed to make it out.
Jeju was a small remote town with few houses, it was very dainty if I do say so myself and if I remember correctly in Aereth the people were some of the most welcoming to us Ancients. We passed building after building until we reached Lame oh’s lab. Cyph-Cyph was on the porch waiting for us.
“Dokyeom, why are you here?”
“Darling Sen could you and Lame oh go inside for a bit?” I asked with a convincing smile.
“Of course,” Sen said as she walked inside with Lame oh.
“What is it?” Cyph asked.
“Did you see the footage of their duel?”
“Yes, Sen did well.”
“Yup! She did marvelously!”
She waved off the topic, “I’ll ask again: why are you here? You aren’t here to brag about Sen, because you already do that normally.”
“Hahaha, You caught me,” I said sheepishly as I rubbed my head.
“Speak.”
“We need to go back to Aereth,” I said while taking a deep breath. “Like, the real Aereth.”
“... Why?” She spoke softly in almost a whisper. “Isn’t it safe here?”
I sighed and scratched my head, “Cyph- Cyph, you know we can’t ignore the issues of the outside world forever…”
“I know that!” she shouted, and I started to see the shine of her golden tears forming in her eyes, “I know, but I just can’t stand the thought of losing any more of my companions.”
“And you’re not. We’ve become stronger than we ever were when Trem first turned, so please believe in us. I know in the past you felt heavily burdened to protect us all because you were one of the strongest Ancients, but please. We need to go to Aereth.”
“I - I don’t know. I don’t know anymore what to do. I don’t think I can protect us anymore if something were to happen. During the war… when you tried to protect me… You could have gotten yourself killed!”
“But I didn’t?”
“Are you even listening to me,” she yelled out, “We can’t!”
“We can.”
“Well if we go out there now they are going to attack not only us but Sen and Ohies…”
“I know. Anything could have happened after the effects of their gems wore off. They could have taken them off but they didn’t know, and we lead them on.”
“It wasn’t our fault…” she said muffled through tears.
“No, it wasn’t,” I said as I crouched down next to her “I just need you to try, we need to go back to Aereth.”
“Don’t you see that I am trying? I’m trying to understand! I know we must. I - I’m just scared.”
“I promise I won’t leave you like the rest of the ancients did”
“... Are you sure we should go?” Tears were streaming down Cyph-Cyph’s face.
“Yes”
“Ok...”
I nodded as I moved towards the door of the lab.
“Aren’t you worried about Sen’s vision?” Cyph asked me before I touched the door handle, “You told me about it through the recording.”
“Nope.”
I opened the door finding Sen and Lame oh on the couch waiting in anticipation.
“Master?” Sen called.
“Sir Dokyeom?” Lame oh called.
“Yo! We’re heading out, and you guys are coming with us.”
