Terrence was a dream come true. A friend. He slowly took a deep breath. "You know.....your one of the first people who weren't revolted by me." Terrence sighed. He started walking again, and so did I. "My family is.....special. We are not normal......at all." Terrence started up, as we approached the exit. "I, Dad, and Marley can do it." Terrence continued. Marley. At that point I decided to keep that name in mind. "Most people don't like us for it though." Terrence explained. I was about to comfort him until we exited the cavern, and its unworldly glow.
What once was a grand valley was no just a gray large place, filled with more "Supplies for a tree house." and death in the air. But in the distance I could see the moon. It was huge. It filled lots of the sky. It shone brilliantly above a grayish forest, far past the valley. And Then I saw it. Among the trees I could see a small cliff and the outline of a building. Terrence stared out there too. "A nice forest for a tree house, right?" Terrence Suggested. He looked at me and smiled, giving me a thumbs up. I quickly to respond to the friend code, gave him one back. We both laughed and began our descent from up the mountain. The cave had led us to a small cliff leaning over the ruins like valley. We walked down a rough slope. It was a little rough on my leg, which still hurt, but not as bad now. I walked carefully down the slope, trying not to slip and fall. Though not as deadly as a fall from a cliff per say, rolling down this slope clumsily would earn me a few bruises and marks. Terrence was not careful. He was hoping from rock to rock as he descended. He seemed surprisingly upbeat. "Careful." I warned, with a hint of playfulness. Terrence looked at me and smirked, as he jumped to another rock. "I'll be fine!" Terrence laughed.
I laughed too watching him jump again. I should have been watching where I was going. The earth beneath me began to slip away. I tripped and fell, and started to tumble. I continued to roll down the hill painfully, I soon approached a drop off point that fell into a cavern underground. I yelled out in pain as I was reaching the random hole in the ground. I rolled right into it. But before I could fall in I was stopped. I was floating above the hole! I weird fuzzy felling tingled throughout my body. Terrence was sticking out his hand toward me, his eyes black again, the dots which he called pupils beamed. Slowly he moved his hand over. And just like his hand I levitated to safety. I fell with a thud. Terrence started to pant a little. "Carful." He muttered. "Thanks." I replied. After a moment of catching our breath we continued our adventure down the slope. Soon we reached flat, grayish ground. All I could see was flat land, with an abandoned looking town in the distance, followed by a slope upward to the forest. The land had been dark all day, and the sun was setting. It was almost pitch black at night time. We were losing daylight and fast. "I'm getting tired." I mumbled. Terrence nodded. "That old town looks comfyish!" Terrence announced. So they started to walk toward the town. I watched the sunset, back then I didn't realize how beautiful sunsets are.
After twenty minutes of walking on barren land, except for a few stray items we reached the town. We picked an abandoned looking ware house and walked in there. "Hey M! Come check this out!" Terrence yelled from a separate room. I ran over and smiled. Beds! They were dirty but they were beds. I always slept in a sleeping bed, I couldn't remember the last time I had seen one. We quickly climbed in. Soon the room was covered in pitch darkness. "Wow I've never had a sleepover before!" I yelled excitedly. "What's a sleepover?" Terrence yawned clearly tired. I'll tell you tomorrow..." I whispered. Shortly after we were asleep. However a few hours later was awoken by a sound of a twig snap. "Did you hear that?" I muttered in the darkness. No response. I sighed. "Must have been my imagination." I determined. I cuddled back up in bed. I was wrong. Soon I could hear more shuffling outside, louder this time. I stopped myself from falling asleep. "Terrence!" I repeated slightly afraid. He still didn't respond. I slowly raised out of my mangy bed and approached Terrence's. I started to shake him. "Terrence!" I whispered. He moaned and opened his eyes. "...Morte?" He groaned. "There's something outside." I mumbled. Again another stick could be heard snapping. The snap echoed and sent a chill down my spine. The pure darkness didn't help. "Not something....someone." Terrence muttered. I heard the shuffle of sheets, presumably Terrence raising out of bed. "Let's go on a hunt." Terrence laughed. I gulped loudly and nodded. "Okay." I agreed. "Follow me." Terrence commanded. "Where are you?" I asked. Terrence chuckled. Kind of creepy when you’re standing in pure darkness. A hand reached out from the darkness and grabbed onto mine. It tugged me into a different direction. Then as we entered another room, it let go. A brilliant flicker of flame emerged from the wall. Terrence stood beside it grinning. The torch hanging from the wall lit up the entire room. "Peek a boo." Terrence gestured. He grabbed the torch and started walking in a different direction. Quickly I followed suit. He led me to the front door. He slowly opened it and walked outside. We both walked into the darkness, and stopped. We listened. Nothing. "Odd." I announced. "Their here." Terrence gasped. "Who!?!" I asked. The silence was broken as I watched Terrence tackled to the ground by a buff figure. The flame went out, casting shadow everywhere. Suddenly out of nowhere I felt an insane amount of force pinned on me. A stranger of the dark had me pinned to the ground. I struggled and yelled. Then I felt a painful blow to my head. I stopped squirming. I closed my eyes and passed out.
