“Uncle Artic are you sick?” Tabby looked at Artic more worried.
“Not me, but my dear Abigail is.” Artic sits down Tabby. “She's pregnant and has gotten sick and with her weak body I'm very worried about her.”
Tabby gasps “Oh no. I'm glad you two finally got pregnant but with her body you are right to be worried.” Tabby tilts her head. “But how can I help?”
“I need you to make a potion.” Artic takes Tabby's hands. “I know you probably haven't used much magic but I believe you'll be able to. You love Abigail as much as I do. You two use to play together all the time when you were young. You even said you'd be the one to marry her.” Artic laughs slightly “You were so mad when I ended up being the one she married. It was so cute and you were the best maid of honor she could have asked for.”
Tabby looks at Artic. When she was a small child an older witch had a lycan familiar. He was kind and gentle but also a wild beast. He was quite a bit older than her but she had always thought he was handsome. Abigail had been her babysitter. She made Tabby feel loved and like she belonged and was needed. Abigail was born weak. Born from two powerful witches but with no magic in her body at all. This lack of any magic made her body weak. She would often get sick and Tabby learned to cook and bake so that she could take care of the girl who was so kind. It wasn't until later in life when Tabby found out Abigail had been abandoned by her family because she was weak and that's why she lived with them. When she found out she cried for a few days straight. She couldn't understand how anyone could be so cruel. One day as Abigail and Tabby were outside Artic and his Master came to visit Tabby's mother because she needed a potion only Tabby's mother could make. In those days Artic wasn't as beat up but he was still decently muscled with wild hair. Tabby will never forget the look in his eyes. It was like a wolf spotting the most delicious rabbit. She looked and noticed he was looking at Abigail. Tabby was scared he wanted to hurt Abigail but when he came over and knelled before Abigail after picking a wild flower from the edge of the field Tabby felt like he would protect her better than she could. She remembered asking him if he would protect Abigail since she was weak and Tabby, to small to help. He had the sweetest smile as he said he'd love to. Abigail turned bright red making Tabby think she was sick. Her worried reaction made Abigail and Artic laugh. Artic ended up coming by a lot more after that and eventually Tabby's father told her she could call him uncle if she wanted since she had no uncles. He agreed and Tabby began to think of him as an uncle. The day when he proposed to Abigail was one of the most beautiful spring days. Every flower had just bloomed as if they knew something special was to happen. When Tabby came home with a bunch of flowers for Abigail and saw Artic with his hand on her waist and she showing off a ring, it stung a little. She spent a week in her room but when she came out Abigail asked her to be her maid of honor. In that weeks time Tabby had realized she was far more happy at their engagement and love than there was pain for losing her love Abigail. It was a beautiful wedding straight from a fairy tale. Artic's Master relieved him of his duties as her Familiar as a wedding present and even gave Abigail an enchanted necklace to keep her safe and in contact with Artic if he should ever go off on some duty. It was beautiful and reminded Tabby that she too wanted a fairy tale love like her mother and father or like Artic and Abigail.
“I would do anything for you two.” Tabby smiles. “I haven't tried making potions though but I think I know the perfect potion for Abigail.” 'Only my mother could make it but as her daughter I too should have the right magic for the job even if my magic is not pure.'
Artic follows Tabby as she walks to the cottage. “What potion do you plan to make?”
Tabby turned her head and smiles “Mothers all powerful potion.”
Artic stops walking and grabs Tabby's shoulder “You cannot do that you could end up hurt!”
Tabby shakes off Artics hands and smiles “As my mothers daughter it is my duty to make this potion. I have been sulking for far to long. Mother and Father would both be ashamed if they knew I had neglected my duty to help people.” Tabby walks over and opens up a floorboard pulling out a giant book. “I will need supplies.” She looks at Artic and smiles. “Take me to get them?”
Artic sighs and nods “Just like your father you are stubborn as a mule.” He smiles and leans against the door frame crossing his arms. “Going there will be a dangerous journey and you are a taboo. People will be out for you as a prize.”
Tabby smiles mischievously looking over her shoulder at Artic “Aren't they always?” Tabby begins to pack a small magical sack as Artic laughs. She knows he can't refuse her. He made a promise a long time ago, one he will always keep.
