Aetheria, the legendary Capital of Technological Progress. Digging through the past to greet the future, Aetheria prides itself in their rapid advancements in technology. Of course, as is the case with all large cities, they have quite the scrapyard. “Come on, Come on,” said a young boy, digging through huge piles of scrap. “It's gotta be here somewhere,” he says to himself quietly, as to not wake the guard. He looks around, using a bandanna and goggles to hide his face. "If I don't find it, this exile will take a lot longer than I want it to." The boy, growing impatient with his search, becomes sloppy with his work. In a fit of rage, he throws a hunk of metal into a pile of scrap, causing it to collapse. "Damn it," he says, "Now I need a place to hide." As the guard awakens from his nap, the boy ducks under an old crane of some sort. "Tess, I know your there. Let's not make this any harder than it has to be," proclaims the guard, "Show yourself now, or I will personally see that you are thrown in prison this time." Tess climbs out from under the crane. "You'll have to catch me first," he mutters to himself, as he quietly sneaks back into the city. Tess, disgruntled and tired from the day, pulls his bandanna down around his neck, and puts the goggles up on his head, looking around at all the shops in the Aetherian market district. He casually checks his pockets to see what he has in the way of money. "Not much, today, huh," he says to himself, as he pulls out a small pouch and looks inside. "Only 4 ether pieces. What a waste." He takes the money out of the pouch, and puts it on a stall counter as he passes by, shoving his hands in his worn pockets. "I wonder where Ravin is. It's unlike her to not be looking for me right now," he looks at the setting sun, and sighs, and goes to head out of the market district, overhearing a passing conversation. "I heard that Tess was exiled from his original village in Esthium, something about killing his adoptive family. King Taevir should look into that," said the boy, completely oblivious to Tess' standing there within earshot. "Surely those are rumors, right? How could a kid kill an entire family with no weapons," responded the boy's friend, in disbelief. Tess had heard enough from the boy. He blinked and was suddenly behind the boy. "Do you want to rephrase your concern, Jester," said Tess, almost calmly. "W-What," he stammered, "H-How did you get here?" Tess laughed dangerously. "I've heard your entire conversation," he growls, "And I have to say, I'm not impressed." Jester, nervous that Tess might have heard the whole thing, laughs quietly. "It wasn't about you, Tess, old friend," he says casually, "It was about a different Tess." Tess sighs, and looks down. "Sure," he says sarcastically, as Jester smiles darkly, and throws a punch at Tess. As he looks up, Jester seems to be moving in slow motion, throwing a punch at him. Tess looks at him, confused, and side steps casually, and returns the slow motion punch, then blinks again. "HOW THE HELL," yells Jester's friend, kneeling next to Jester, as blood leaks from his nose. He helps Jester up, as he glares at Tess. "The paladins will hear about this, just you wait, Tess," yells Jester, "You won't get away this time!" Tess, shocked and confused from what just happened, lets out a shaky sigh as an old man approaches him. "Don't worry to much about him," he says plainly, "That Jester kid deserved that. Now you, on the other hand, have extraordinary abilities. How about we chat about it over a nice cup of terra leaf tea?"
