“Ahahah! You are right Kanen!” she replied
Another horde of natives, crossed their intersecting path as they approached it. Imperium guards could be faintly heard receiving inflicted pain in yelps. Firing shots added to the loudness, but were silenced shortly once natives were seen striking back against their former masters.
“We are trapped” Aliikai said as they reached a stop towards the line of native’s.
“Not necessarily” Kanen said beginning to reform their hopes.
“These are my people, they have endured every kind of pain imaginable” Kanen advised.
“This is no exception”
He put his hands to his mouth, creating a circular opening with his fingers leaving three fingers up to rest aside. He blew with a force of a hurricane, his whistle sailing hard to grab the native’s attention.
“Ayv gvgovha!” (I call upon you) Kanen shouted
They turned their heads, directing attention towards him. Thumping of walls caused dust and rocks to fall, one native gasped understanding the dire of help to push back the upcoming danger. Heeding Kanen’s words an elderly man with eyes shrouded in black aura drooled ooze as he started his way stumbling to his young native rescuer. He felt around his body to recognize who was in front of him letting out a puff of air astounded.
“Hanassan, Kanen Hanassan, a-a-aqu-ats-eli uni-sdel-is-gi” (Our Savior) he spoke, a rough voice uttered stuttering words.
Kanen’s surprised shook his head disclosing his humble attitude.
The other stared out at the scene, their skin peeling off slowly still holding up the balance to stand with all the strength left that they could muster. Kanen looked keenly with wonderment, his sun dried eyelids began to water wetting his chapped facial area as they seeped into his open wounds. Was he touched by the reality of what had become? Or was he savoring the last poignant reminder of a disillusioned future? His reaction slowly developed, until a shock split his sorrowful view with a violent lunge from the elderly native he faced. It was crippling not so from his bite but from the sharp turn in events. The hoard immediately followed their member , putting forth a feast of cannibalism like merciless savages. They all took their fare share, taking bites and chucks from Kanen’s bruised body. His seunna kicked into it’s full extent but he still ached at excruciating betrayal. It was a sight even a devil would snarl at. The sinner from earlier came thrashing around the corner, knocking wall pieces as they flew into the air with disregard for it’s surroundings, leaving nothing stable in it’s wake. Aliikai horrifyingly turned from the scene ahead, hearing her native guardian grit pain as his shrilled cries shook her at the core. Seunna soared through thin sheets of gale, touching the ceiling as they went just in time for the enormous sinner to make it’s way to Aliikai. Grappling hooks materialized from the currents, strapping themselves onto the monstrous being causing it to collapse and scrape itself roughly breaking it’s fall. There stood two men from behind suited in black garbs, holding intricate gun’s with containers of seunna attached. They tugged to secure their fastened artillery parts as the sinner struggled to snap it’s disabling impediments. Pure spiritual power traveled into it’s body, rendering it’s endeavors useless.
The hoard cluttering noises behind Aliikai stopped, she looked back to her surprise to notice the native group had disappeared, vanished in seconds. The trace of blood stained the ground, leaving a trail left as a trace. Still, Kanen was nowhere to be found.
Growling uncontrollably the sinner raged on.
“Aliikai!” A males voice called to her ahead.
“Can you understand me?!” A man in black who had previously captured the now detained sinner, tried speaking with her. The veiled men, both wearing masks, nodded back to one another as they released their fingers from the trigger’s they had pressed. Guided by seunna, the ropes wrapped around the sizable creature making its escape to be even less likely. The light fixture flashed on but this time stayed on its vibrancy, matching the slowed mayhem on scene.
He detached his mask, putting his scared face on display with blood soaked cuts and veins on all places above his neck. After clearing his throat he said.
“Oh, mian haeyo.Yeong-eoleul ihaehabnikka? (I am sorry do you understand English)”
Alii nodded her head, still in shock
“Yes, yes, I do. Not all, but some” she replied.
“Good” the man replied.
“My name is Reiji Konwaku, I was sent her to liberate Kanen Vann Hanassan” he said.
“You do know of him right?” Reiji asked.
Aliikai nodded then her eyes widened.
“Yes! I know of Kanen! I-I see you are not in Imp clothing so I take it you must not be an enemy. Please, I need your help!” she exclaimed.
“Kanen, was taken away by his people, the natives not too long ago! We must save him now!” she went on, stressing to let words out.
“If we do not go quickly they might-”
“Which way did he go!?” the other man said standing next to Reiji.
“Yes, take your time. Tell us where?” said Reiji asking.
“This way!” Aliikai turned around pointing to the dry stream stain.
“They did harmful things and took him away” she informed.
“Then that is all the information we need” Reiji told her.
“I do not want to run the risk of this sinner fatally injuring you as he could have if we hadn’t intervened” he added an additional response
“And so, it pains me to say this but, I must ask you to go alone. If you follow the trail it should take you to the Domus entrance, there awaits madame Delphina, the leader of us Velatum” he said.
“All by myself?!” Aliikai asked
“ Don’t worry, It is close from here and only accessible with the Scathon, that weapon you see there” he showed walking to her position.
“That!?” Aliikai said, looking at the rusted weapon.
“That’s what Kanen used to fight with. He’s protected me all this way, but what have I done for him besides get in the way?” she woefully bent her head down as she regularly did when blaming herself.
Reiji bent down to meet her halfway, placing his hand on her small shoulder.
“You leave Kanen to me alright?! Now that I’ve found you not only can we all go home, but I can finally redeem myself. I promise, I will catch up to you once I make sure this sinner has finally given itself up for good. Rest assured, I have you under watch” he told her.
After picking up the scathon weapon in it’s withdrawn tube, he affixed to her side.
“Across this hallway is your destination. At first glance it seems run down, but when you strike the stationary platform it will lower you to Domus, where all of us including Kanen will await you there” he told her.
“D-Domus, Kanen has spoken of that, I-I understand” she said.
“You can handle it, can you not?” Reiji asked.
“No, I can” Aliikai replied.
“I am worried for Kanen, but word from a Velatant is all I need to know everything will be alright” she told him.
“You are sure you will rescue him, he will be safe?” she asked.
“You have my word” he said smiling at her.
“Hm, you have taken a fondness towards Hanassan haven’t you?” he asked
“Kanen you mean?” she nodded.
“You really care about him” Reiji said, looking down his expression changed to that of a somber one but he soon shrugged it off collecting himself.
“Why yes!” she said
“I do not want to wait much longer, let us meet again” she added.
“Then it shall be so” Reiji fixed his posture, looking back at his Velatant comrade.
“Let madame Delphina know of our current situation, Aliikai will be joining our forces soon” he told him
“Sir!” the Velatant replied.
“I will be right behind you Aliikai” said Reiji, as he stuck his head from around the corner pointing towards the platform that sat at the end of the hallway, unguarded.
“There it sits at the very end”
Aliikai nodded, before starting her way down.
“Reiji?” Aliikai asked before making her way.
“Yes?” he said.
“May I ask, how you know of me?” she wondered.
“I have known you for a very long time, since birth actually” he answered.
“I’ll tell you all about it when we get back home, ok?” he told her.
Aliikai smiled “Really?”
Reiji nodded.
“Well what are you waiting for?” he said.
“Oh yes, of course” Aliikai, began walking, following the trail set before her.
……..
……. Reiji watched as she faded down the long end into the hall becoming blurred in the distance.
He reached into his pocket and dug inside, looking for content he had kept close for reasons of his own.
“Are you sure , she’ll be alright on her own Reiji?” the Velatant guard from behind the sinner asked, he glanced back at it seemingly feeling relief as it calmed it’s state of tension.
A curved grin formed across Reiji’s mouth, his stature casting a shadow over his comrade. He crept closer.
“Most definitely” he said, unveiling a weapon he kept underwraps shooting his ally at point blank range. Before the man could react properly he fell, collapsing with bodily mass thumping the ground. Inky mists circulated around his drawn weapon, hovering before waned when under lapping the light. The sinner still tied, was now completely soothed from before. Reiji looked back, a droplet formed in his tear duct. His hands shriveled but his conveyed grief kept them moist, somehow still dry inside.
“Delphina, I pray, please have the Velatum arrive in time” he said, looking upwards.
“Though I still stand, lively as ever there’s no mistaking it, I have indeed become a breathing sinner of my own”
All she heard from there on out, was a gunshot blast she tried wholeheartedly to ignore. Aliikai shook off her petrified state, tripping once or twice but regaining her pace. The bobbing of her insides caused queasiness, and when she could withstand it she let the vomit spill where it may, paying no mind to how it truly made her feel. An intangible spook stroke her back, but it became a second hurdle she chose to jump over. Her young brain clouded with thoughts overflowing.. When closing in, Aliikai unsheathed the Scathon from it’s standby mode, and slammed into the platform looking away at the damage she had done. The waves of sound must have attracted others unseen, she thought but carelessly in all of the fervor generated from the panic, seunna went to work. Spirits operated the system bringing it back to it’s original state clearing some irresolution that shrouded her still pessimistic hunch. That hunch being false, as this time the hissing words spoken for once felt welcoming to her once the door opened. She slowly walked into it looking on all sides of the ring architecture the room was shaped in. Finally she thought, a place for her head. Her hand rested on a metal bar and she leaned on it before letting out a breath of alleviation to cope with what was happening. Though still, something bugged. A faulty disinclination of hope. It hit hard, catching her out of mental cover. She soon realized she was not as sheltered as she thought she now was.
Scratching footsteps that slid with movement and breathing sounded like a snake slithering in it’s territory reacting to uninvited guests.
“Why hello Aliikai, fancy meeting you here. It’s nice to finally meet you face to face once again. I was starting to feel like you had been trying to avoid your own godfather” a voice spoke.
Pearly whites lit the dark, menacingly.
“It’s okay daddy’s here” it said.
Aliikai turned to face her dreadfully, unannounced company.
“You must have worried your mother sick, let me do the honors of returning you to your proper home where animals from a foreign nation can do you no harm”
Her gasp for air became stuck in her lungs before as a ruling arm extended to grab her by the throat. Her head bent back as she choked with his rough squeeze, flailing her arms to compensate for her incompetence.
“Do not worry, it is not time for you to die yet. There is still so much I have planned for you” he said watching her pupils roll back into her skull, his palm pressed against the jugular notch on her neck with fingers wrapped all around. Aliikai capitulated to her assailant, arms falling as they dangled to the side.
“I am Omnium , and now it is time for the grand finale”
