Sam and Cody were just the outskirts of town, when they ran into a pair of oversized bunnies. Sam reached for his weapons and Cody had already took the pair down, swiftly. Sam was impressed.
Sam: *star-struck* What level are you?
Cody: *placing his knife in his bag* I’m level 20.
Sam: *recalled Cody’s earlier conversation* That means that both of you are level 20.
Cody: *shrugged* Yeah. But Sarah has the better weapon. She’s got her mama’s lance.
Sam: Oh…
Cody: I’m good at attacking far away but she hits up close. I’d gladly switch places with her.
Sam: Why, is it because you like her?
Cody: *blushed and playfully hit Sam on the shoulder* Cut it out.
Sam: *chuckled* Aw…Okay. I was just messing with you.
Cody: I know.
The boys walked back into town, joking and laughing. Cody then spotted the Inn and Sarah out in front. He rushed over to her with a concerned look on his face. She spotted him coming toward her and Sam not too far behind. Cody reached her and saw that she was crying. He cupped her face in his hands.
Cody: Are you alright, darling? What’s the matter?
Sarah: Oh Cody, it’s awful…Your knife wasn’t the poison one like we thought.
Sam: *glared at Cody and demanded* What do you mean?
Sarah choked back her tears but couldn’t anymore.
Sarah: *shouted* He used the deadly one. There is no cure. I’m sorry…I’m so very sorry. *collapsed outside the Inn*
Sam gasped and ran into Best Inn and past the owner, Annie and up the stairs with Cody, not too far behind.
Sam ran frantically to each room to find Renee. Cody on his heels. Sam finally came to Renee’s room. Jada and Leon were huddled together. He fell to his knees when he saw Renee’s fragile body. Cody caught up to him and gasped. He put his hand on Sam’s shoulder. Sam jerked away.
Sam: *shouted in anger, blinded by tears* You stay away from me. You did this. I should kill you.
Cody: Listen to me, there is a cure. But I reckon you won’t like it.
Sam: *shouted* I don’t care, just save her.
Cody moved toward Renee as Sarah watched from the doorway. Sam sat there stunned and Sarah clutched her hands over her mouth as she saw Cody kiss Renee on the lips. Cody looked up and saw that Sarah bolted from the room. He followed after her. He caught up with her.
Cody: *shouted* SARAH, wait!
Sarah turned to face him. She glared at him.
Sarah: *crossed her arms* Tell me that I didn’t see what I thought I saw.
Cody: *admitted* Yes, I kissed her but that was the cure for the—
Sarah: *cut him off* But, I thought that you— *tears starting to fill in her eyes*
Cody: *cut her off* That I--what, huh? *paused* You thought that I liked you… Is that it? *throws up his hands* I’m sick and tired of people always saying we are good for each other. *blushed* I don’t just like you…Heck, I love you, Sarah McLane…But I ain’t fixing to start no drama. Now, you either take me or leave me. It’s your choice.
Sarah: You what? *blushed* Repeat what you said, Jameson.
Cody: I ain’t fixing to start no drama.
Sarah: *chuckled lightly* Are ya dense, boy? I said repeat that L word.
Cody: *blushed as he stepped toward her* I love ya, girl.
Sarah stepped closer to him. Her light green eyes met his deep blue eyes and then before y’all know it, she lightly kissed him on the lips. He was a little taken back by her doing that. He kissed her before as kids, but she ain’t never kissed him. Especially not like this.
Sarah: *took a step back* I’m sorry, Cody. I don’t know what came over me. I gotta go. *spun on her heel and declared a few feet away from him* I love you too.
She took off into the forest and disappeared from his sight. Cody walked back into Best Inn and went to Renee’s room. He smiled as he entered. Renee was sitting upright and chatting away with Jada and Leon as Sam held her hand, tightly. Everyone turned toward Cody. Sam lunged at Cody and grabbed him by his shirt collar.
Sam: *punched him* That was your cure to kiss my girl—
Cody: *chuckled cutting him off* Hey, it worked…Right.
Sam was about to punch him, again until Leon stepped in and grabbed ahold of Sam’s arm.
Leon: Both of you, outside, now.
The boys stood outside Renee’s room and Leon closed the door behind them.
Leon: *put his hand on his forehead* Sam, you can’t go punching your teammate. And you…*wagging his finger at Cody* You can’t go around using your knives on people.
Cody: *groaned* But I didn’t know y’all at the time.
Leon: That’s beside the point. Both of you need to learn to get along… Or I’ll--
Before Leon could say anything else, Cody’s stomach rumbled. Leon smiled.
Leon: You sound like you could eat…
Cody: *grinned* Yes sir, I’m mighty hungry. What’s you got?
Sam shook his head and grabbed Cody’s arm.
Sam: *whispered* Leon can’t c---
At that Jada yanked the door open and glared at Sam intensely. Her eyes said, “Say another word and I strike you with lightning.” Sam uneasily released Cody’s arm and backed away slowly. Leon kissed Jada on the cheek and motioned for Sam and Cody to come back inside Renee’s room. Jada closed the door behind them.
Meanwhile, Sarah armed with her lance decided to do some target practice. Eventually, she got bored and went back into town. She stopped by the Inn and headed inside. It smelt of burnt overcooked food, that’s when she knew Cody must be chowing down as she knows that boy would eat anything. His kinsfolk taught him that. She made her way up the stairs to Renee’s room and knocked on the door. Sam ushered her in and sat her down next to Renee. Sarah glanced at Renee’s hands…They were still trembling.
Sarah: Cody, why’s the girls’ hands still trembling?
Cody: *mouthful of food* It’s just a side effect.
Sarah: *disgusted* Chew your food, first.
Cody: *gulped his food down and cleared his throat* It’s just a side effect. It should go away in an hour or so. *stuffed more food in his mouth*
Sarah got slightly grossed out by Cody’s eating habits. She turned her attention toward Renee. She noticed that Renee started crying.
Sarah: Why are you crying?
Renee: I was happy to be dying.
Everyone stopped what they were doing and Sarah gasped. Everyone turned toward Renee. Jada walked over to her and slapped her hard across the face. Sam was about to jump out of his seat, but Leon held him, back.
Jada: Why in the world, would you say that?
Renee: *rubbed her bruised cheek* because I saw my parents, that’s why.
Everyone was silent as Renee continued.
Renee: While I was drifting between this world and the next…I saw them, they were so happy to see me. But…Dad said, it wasn’t my time and I couldn’t go with them. *angrily pointing at Cody* And then this fool kissed me and I was whirled away from them.
Sam: *touched Renee on the shoulder and spoke sweetly* Honey, if you’re going be mad…Direct that anger at me. I told him to save you by any means necessary.
Renee: *cried as Sam embraced her* I’m sorry, Sam. *pleaded* Please let me make it up to you.
Sam: *smiled warmly* I know exactly how you can do that.
Renee: *sniffled* How?
Cody: *injected* How about we take you, two lovely ladies out around town? *pulled Sarah close to him as he said that*
Renee looked over at Leon and smiled. He sighed and gave an approving nod.
Renee: *laughed lightly* It’s a date, then.
Sam: Great…Are we going to do this, tomorrow or Sunday?
Cody: We’ll head out, Sunday.
Leon: All of you must be back by midnight on Sunday.
Sarah: *asked* Why?
Leon: The party is heading toward Star Falls.
Sarah: I know exactly where that’s at. Cody and I were headed there before we got separated. *asked* Why y’all headed there, anyway?
Leon: We have relatives, there.
Sarah: No way, Cody does too. Good thing, we joined y’all party.
Leon: *pulled out his map* Show me on the map how to get there the quickest way and we’ll let you stay out past two a.m.
Sarah: *studied Leon’s map with delight* Well, the quickest way to get there will take about two months. *looked back at Leon and eyed the map* the route you initially chose, would take us six months. What we need to do is head to Goddess Falls, they have the best weaponry, then head over to that Elvish Village…I forgot the name of it.
Jada: *chimed in* you mean, Blossoms in the Mist…I’m from there.
Sarah: *snapped her fingers* That’s it, Thanks and cool. *eyed map* Blossoms have the best music around to relax you along with the best food. And finally, you need to challenge the King and Queen of Star Falls to a three-person chess match.
Leon: A what? *confused*
Sarah: *chuckled* I’m kidding, you need to fight both the King and Queen simultaneously.
Leon: Why? That seems unfair.
Sarah: I don’t make the rules. I hear they’re tough and have a lot of HP. Once you beat the King, the Queen will either surrender or fight ya to her last breath.
Leon: *groaned* this seems like a lot of work.
Sarah: Well, it’s better than your plan…*smiled* Now, about our deal.
Leon: All of you can stay out past 2 am on Sunday. We leave Monday at noon.
The four teens embraced each other and Jada looked lovingly at her husband. Leon nodded in her direction and took the boys into the adjoining room. Jada motioned toward the girls.
Jada: *smiled and laughed* What are you going to wear on Sunday?
Sarah: *grinned* I already got that covered.
Renee: *eyes sparkled* really?
Sarah: *nodded* Yeah.
Jada: *cleared her throat* Sarah, I might have to see those outfits before I approve of them.
Renee: *stomped her foot* But you bought me this one. *eyeing her own outfit*
Jada: *snapped* Watch it, missy…You’re still on very thin ice with me.
Renee: *recalled what happened earlier, lowered her head* I’m sorry, Jada.
Jada: *hugged her sister-in law* You’re forgiven, but if that happens again, I’ll strike you down myself. Understand.
Renee: *slowly nodded in fear* I understand.
Sarah pulled two outfits out of her bag. She presented both outfits to Jada. Jada grinned and prodded Sarah to explain each.
Sarah: Okay, both dresses are knee length and have long sleeves.
Sarah’s Left Hand – Dress A Sarah’s Right Hand – Dress B
Is elegant and fun at same time, comes with a miniature kiwi and humming bird bracelet. It comes with a miniature strawberry and red robin bracelet. It’s rough around the edges.
It has splashes of pink and green and blue flowers across the bottom portion of the skirt. *with a white lace, ruffled helm* Its mocks the signature little black dress quite lovely by being red all over. Its top is embroidered with red roses and a splash of black accent. *There are slits for the top of the arm to the elbow for the top portion*
Jada: *looked over each dress, eyeing it up and down, glanced over at Renee who is grinning widely from ear to ear*
Renee: *pondered* Which dress would I look good in?
She looked over both. She thought, “If I choose Dress A, then I don’t know if Sam would like it. But if I choose Dress B, I think Sam will love it.”
Jada: *clapped her hands, together and smiled* Okay, I approve…Now, choose a dress.
Sarah: I’ll go first, since I’m older…I choose Dress A.
Renee: *grinned* Yay, then I choose B.
Jada: Excellent. Now put those dresses away for Sunday. It’s time for bed.
Sarah and Renee groaned. Jada’s hand started to show sparks of lightning and the two girls quickly clammed up. All three of them climbed into their luxurious beds and drifted off to sleep.
The next day was uneventful, Leon and Jada pretty much spent the whole day keeping the teens in line. Leon took the boys to a sewing class and Jada took the girls fishing. The two team leaders swapped places and Leon taught the girls how to catch Red Snappers while, Jada taught the boys how to ladder stitch. Eventually, all four teenagers, patience subsided and they grew wary. Both Leon and Jada noticed this and called it a day. The couple were later seen high-fiving after a smooth sailing day. Everyone was so worn out, that they slept until noon to next day...Which was
