A full moon dazzled behind clouds. The portion of its’ light reflected in the water of the moon goddess’ fountain. Trees with grey leaves and white flowers, stood near the fountain and covered it slightly. A gust of wind puffed strongly, causing the leaves and petals slide alongside the breeze and settling in the water.
Slender fingers ducked into the water and grabbed a hold of the petals and leaves, taking them out and placing them on the fountain’s edges. The middle finger traced a line over the water’s surface and an image emerged of an mortal that held a baby girl in her arms, bowing at the moon goddess’ shrine.
“Please, please! I beg of you moon goddess. Please protect my child.” Tears were strumming down the woman’s cheeks, as she held the baby closer to her chest, with her head lowered and her eyes squinted.
“The priest predicted my child to die! Only the moon Goddess’ blessing is what can protect her from harm, please, please. I’ll do anything to protect my child!” The woman pleads were earnest.
White lips parted slightly, “This child was predicted to die?” Light blue eyes blinked confusedly. A wave length of black hair leaned forward, covering some part of the goddess’ face as she was bent over the fountain and watching the mortal, hearing her voice echoing from the water.
A pondering expression tilted her face, “This child… Who is she?”
The child’s body emitted a burning white light of a high goddess’ protection. “This Aura…” Eyes widened of realization. “…It must be her daughter!?!”
Sweat trailed down the edges of her forehead, while her skin paled. “…I can’t believe it. How did you leave a daughter behind?! With whom?! And u never let me know?!?”
Water drops sparkled at the peek of her vision. The memories of her important friend flooded through her mind. Her friend’s smooth hair glistering in the moonlight and the raindrops that always avoided sullying her whole being. While she, even standing next to her, got still soaked by the rain.
The moon goddess rose her hand and wiped off her tears, with the fabrics of her light blue dress.
“The priest’s prediction…” The moon goddess lowered her eyes and then they snapped open in haste.
Her head sloped forward, a dark shadow looming over her eyes . “Death is luring in the darkness. And it is the light of the rain goddess that pulls the darkness towards her…”
