Salthazar was knocked out cold from their lovemaking, though Carbel would hardly call it as such. He'd gotten what he'd needed and that was all that mattered. The child that would grow in his womb. The result from the encounter would be worth it. The mask still over his face, the vampire made his way through to the streets.
The omega did not notice that his father was drifting through the crowds he’d just exited from. He did not notice and even if he had; he would not have cared.
He was stopped by a guard on his way out, "I hope you enjoyed the party" the guard had hold of his arm.
"Very much so, now I will be on my way." he yanked his arm away from the grip of the guard. He didn't trust the look the beta was giving him. Every guard in the king's castle was a beta, this was for a purpose. To keep control over them without heats or being challeged for dominance. Carbel observed the beta guards as he walked away. They were a neutral gender, they didn't really offer opnions on anything. "The perfect slaves" he mumbled as he vanished into the darkness.
His only goal was to reach his destination in one piece. Soon signs of life would begin to show, and when that happened, he needed the assistance of the oracle, his grandparent. He walked into the dark shipyard and silently watched the humans as they toiled away at working the docks. He reached out, pulling a human woman off to the side as he passed her. She smiled at him, "You are so beautiful" the vampire purred as he caressed her face with his palm. The beta blushed and couldn't speak as Carbel kissed her neck. He pulled her close and she squeaked as he sunk his fangs into her neck. The human tensed up against him and weakly tried to pull away. He growled into her neck as he drained her blood with long slow drags.
Her life wavered like a candle in the wind, being snuffed out by the strong gale that was Carbel in a matter of moments. He dumped her body into the water as he headed into the ship. "Stupid betas." he snorted in disdain as he pushed the ship hand aside and barged into the vessel.
"Sir you can't-" he cut the ship hand, a young human beta male, off with a warm, sinister smile.
"Come inside with me young man..." he said this as he reached out to yank the human behind him.
The ship was quiet and unoccupied, he tossed the body overboard and sat down on the deck. staring out at the waves crashing against the gently rocking ship in the harbor.
The sound of footfalls could be heard, looking up the raven spotted a grizzled looking older man whose body was covered in stitches and two other younger men, one with long blond hair, the other with shorter red hair. sighed as he stood up, the rest of what seemed to be the stitch faced man’s crew appeared. They were all elves he noticed. He raised an eyebrow as the captain began to speak, “I’m Captain Le Mort, better known as Captain Dead, this is my crew, crew of the Ship Of The Dead, we’ll get you to the island in one piece love. Sit back in the cabin with my boys, go on now find shelter from the cold”
The dark elf captain waved Carbel away. The prince nodded, bowing to him respectfully. The vampire followed the redhead and the blond elves into the cabin. That was when he noticed something strange, and familiar. Looking around the small cabin space, for they’d bypassed the deeper parts of the ship to simply head to the captains study cabin. He saw four other figures in the candlelight that illuminated the room.
"Get comfortable lad, the trip will be a long one" the blond said this as he sat on a box and began to sharpen a knife.
"We'll be at sea for a few months, are you ok with that?" the red haired elf asked this as he looked at Carbel.
"That will be fine. I can wait." He smiled briefly toward them before his attention went to look back at the people in the corner. A masked man standing alongside a pale man whose black hair trailed to his mid back. He recognized them in some way and he got up and walked over quietly.
Slowly stepping over he cleared his throat, they couldn’t be, could they? But, as soon as he moved his hand to touch the masked man’s shoulder, they both faded away…..
Figuring it some kind of trick he shook his head and sat down in an empty spot. The blond spoke after a long pause of silence. "Seein things already?"
The vampire didn't answer, he didn't have a chance as the captain called out from above deck. “Lights out boys! We be headin' through the Siren’s Song!”
The Siren’s Song, it was the name of the place in the sea where the sirens rose upon the rocks, to sing their haunting melodies that sent pirates and fishermen alike to their doom. Not even women were safe from their tune, The single female crew elf was the first to blow out the candles that sat in the cabin, shrouding it in darkness.
Carbel watched as they all drifted off to sleep as quickly as possible. His eyes, glowing red and black in the darkness, needed no such precaution. The Siren’s Song held no danger for him. He leaned back against the cabin wall, nearest to the window. Hands settled on his still flattened stomach he whispered an enchantment. He hadn’t time to waste or to risk in a miscarriage.
As hardy as his body was, his strength lied in his eyes not his physical form. He could not take the chance of a bad fall, or a sudden jolt of the ship. The safety of the ship was the whole reason he'd chosen this mode of transport in the first place. He could not fly, not right now, any kind of miscalculation and all his plans would be unraveled before his babe even saw light of moon touch his naked newborn flesh.
Chanting under his breath as quietly as he was able, he cast a protection spell over himself for the duration of the ship ride through The Siren’s Song. It took about a day, a long boring day of nothing but charming human deckhands down to their doom. Carbel could easily say he was bored and the salty air stung his eyes annoyingly at times. It was a rough ride, but they’d survived. Outside, The sirens, nothing but evil whispers on the winds that faded back to whence they’d come. They were not able to travel away from the areas designated them, nor did they operate during the daylight.
Carbel hid away from the sun below deck in the bowels of the ship.
The crew went about their way, knowing that their roles as his safe guard on route to his ancestral home was almost fulled, for now, until he called on them again. The Crew Of The Dead were in eternal service to his grandmother, The Oracle. The journey for the next week was silent until it came to an end. He thanked them as they finally arrived at the shore. Carbel took a moment to evaluate the crew as they set up camp next to the beach. The blonde's hair was pulled over his right eye, he was dressed in a white ruffled shirt and black pants with a belt that looked weathered and worn, but was covered in small packs he assumed carried some kind of objects.
The redhead was dressed more simply, a black robe and a cowl covered his head against the sun. the catboy was in an argument with the captain about something he could not quite catch, but he saw the captain, free of his trifold navy blue hat and the black robes he was dressed in the night before, bore long black hair that billowed in the wind behind him. The blue haired catboy wore a bandana around his forehead, a massive bandaged sword on his dark blue shirt covered back. The pants he wore were just as light a blue as the strange man’s hair was. He was in a pair of old dusty black boots.
Carbel made a mental note to get to know this crew later.
Another set of elves, strawberry blondes, they were both wearing matching red and grey shirts. The designs on both like a hang man’s noose made of blood. Their pants were tied together around the legs, though the redhead’s pants were tied a bit lower around the hips than his companion.
The woman was wearing a black long sleeved blouse and white pants, her footwear were simple slippers. Looking at the white haired man stand beside the captain, he saw the white and black striped shirt the scythe holder wore was torn in some places. His equally stripped pants and even his shoes as well, though those were a shiny black, they still seemed, old. The captain was covered in stitches from head to toe. Carbel could not place his finger on it as he watched the captain, shirtless and still arguing with the catman.
Shaking his musings from his mind he bid them all good evening. "I'll see you all later and I wish you safe winds and travels" he bowed with a sweep of his arm to the crew who all bowed back. He gave a charming smile to the crew and the men looked back at him fondly.
"Great meeting you Carbel!" the blond spoke for all of them as the crew got back to work. Carbel smiled as he turned into the night to reach the massive castle that sat just beyond the forest.
Pulling his robes tightly around himself to fight the cold in the evening, he sighed. Making his way to the palace of the Oracle, he entered the giant temple-like structure silently. The disciples and acolytes that gathered in the winding halls stopped to stare as he walked past. "Hello everyone" he greeted the lowly betas that scampered about.
His grandmother, Vivluna, The Oracle of Dirue, a tall and powerful omega vampire, he stood at six feet tall and his body was slender and graceful. He was in the throne room, sitting on his throne studying a crystal ball. He was dressed in nothing except for the gold and silver chains and jewelry that hung from his neck, and those that wrapped around his hips, wrists and ankles. His long ears pointed away from his sea of India ink black wavy long hair that flowed around him like water. His body was covered in tribal and rune tattoes in golds pinks blues and greens. Earrings in both his ears in the Dirue clan symbol, a half moon inside a full moon. The Oracle hummed lightly, hands covering a crystal ball that had long since turned black.
Carbel made his presence known, materializing alongside his grandmother.
Vivluna, busy with his crystal ball took a moment to acknowledge that his grandson had arrived. The oracle smiled as he stood up , the jewels dangling from him as he walked toward the double doors of the throne room. The younger vampire grinned as he entered, holding his arms out wide, his grandmother pulling him into his own arms. “My boy~! Which one are you again dear?”
"I am Carbel grandmother." he smiled warmly at his grandmother. The other omega smiled and offered him a seat beside him on the throne.
