It started just like any other day. Moon and Night were flying towards the possible location of Dr. Krone, their main nemesis. They landed in front of a nice, new office building. They headed inside. When they entered they were surprised to find that the building was trashed. It looked more like a old warehouse than an office building.

"Stop where you are, or I will shoot!" They turned around to see Dr. Krone aiming a odd looking gun at them.

"I knew you two would find me eventually, so I gave you the tip about this place and you came."

“Well that’s a first,” Moon said.

"I'm glad you agree my dear, because today will be your last." Krone pointed the gun at her and fired. Moon looked down at herself, but saw nothing, no marks or holes in her. She looked at Night and smiled, then collapsed to the ground. Night ran to her and held her in his arms. Night looked at Krone in fury.

"What did you do to her!" Night shouted at him. Krone smiled and laughed.

"I took her energy," he showed Night a vial filled with a blue liquid, "This vial contains Moon’s energy."

"I don't understand."

"Every person has energy within them, but superpowered beings have more energy within them than normal humans, so I took her energy and this vial is the results. I tested the gun on some normal humans and got some interesting results. Their energy made me smarter, so think how smart I could become if I drink Moon’s energy! I would become a true super villain!"

"You monster!" Night looked at his hands and started to see a faint black glow coming from them. He looked at Krone and felt a rage he never felt before. As his hands started to glow brighter, Krone took a step back.

"N...no...now Night, I did this in the name of science. I...please don’t kill me!" Night looked at Krone and fired a black bolt of energy that went right through Krone’s chest. Krone gasped and slowly fell to the ground. The vial rolled out of Krone’s hand and rolled to Night. Night looked down at the vial and picked it up. He raised his arms ready to throw it, but stopped and put it in one of his pockets. He heard a thud outside and soon heard more.

"Night, we came as soon as Moon activated her beacon…Night what happened!?" Eclipse ran to Moon’s body and looked at Night.

"Krone killed her." Super Moon and Crescent Moon walked over to Krone’s dead body.

"What happened to Krone? Did you shoot him with one of his inventions?" asked Super Moon.

"No, I would never stoop that low. His mistake was that gun that he had. It killed him." Another thud came from outside. Blood Moon entered and saw Moon’s body.

"Night, I’m so sorry!" said Blood Moon as he tried to embrace Night, but Night pushed him away.

"I’m quitting the league." Eclipse’s head shot up.

"Night! You can’t quit, not now. We’re your family!"

"I don’t care Eclipse! I can’t do this anymore! I just lost my sister, my twin! I’m not Night anymore. My name is Caleb Moon and I quit." Caleb turned around and flew away from the building and what was once his life…
