I always loved the walk to school. It’s always been so peaceful and calming to be able to casually was past all the cute little houses, all colorful and decorated to fit the owner and their families booming personality. Living in the Rose District was always something I valued. And yes most would think that it would be loud but it’s actually rather lovely with stunning gardens outside every house, the sweet smell of honeysuckle in the crisp morning air, the sound of birds chirping telling their friends a lovely ‘good morning’. Ah everything is just amazing to me, except… well Marie, but what can you expect. Marie quickly skipped ahead of me and started going on about how excited she was for the Flowering Ceremony.
“Aren’t you just itching to find out your flower Tir?! It’s so exciting and only a day away, can you believe that?!” She giggled.
“Marie calm down. Your just setting in the fact that you belong here you and your rose self. You bloom bigger than any other person I know.”
“You really think so? I’m actually pretty scared. I mean what if I end up with a flower that I don’t like. It’s not like I get a choice I just go through the ceremony and watch the flower grow, hoping that I get what I would think is something that I deem fitting of my personality and something that I would enjoy and not dread having to live every day of my life then wishing that I got a different flower…”
Marie continued on for a while but like normal I ended up tuning her out to listen to my own thoughts until we arrived at school. All the students rushing inside in small groups to then find others to join the same group that everyone falls into every day.
The school itself was stunning to look at. A massive set of stairs divided by silver railings leading up to the glossy gray stone paneled exterior with large circular windows peeking out of a ring of darker gray stone. Continuing inside is the same gray stone striping white walls lined with lockers labeled with a number corresponding to a student. Above important rooms or sections of the school light blue letters with black detailing labeled them boldly so students can’t get lost along with maps of the two story building dotted around major trafficked areas.
