I get off the plane in Los Angeles, and the guilt is still consuming me. I don't think I'll be able to do my job if I keep thinking about it. I can't stop the feeling that Nora won't forgive me. I step into the bar at the airport, and sit down at the bar. "What can I get ya?" The bartender asks me. "Water." It's six in the morning The bartender sets down my water and I chug it. "Are you okay?" The Bartender asks. I shake my head. "I'm such a busy person and..." I sigh. "my best friend is really hurt that I'm not there. We used to hang out all the time when we first met, but now we barely see each other. We live together for God's sake!" The Bartender chuckles. "Is it because of your job?" I nod. " So, why don't you find a new job?" It's my turn to chuckle " If you made what I make a year you would never quit." " What do you do for a living?" I just shake me head and smile, then I walk out of the bar.
I make it to the Crown Plaza Hotel and get my room key.
I finally get the floor my room is on, and I see a scary looking man shoving another less scary looking man against the wall. I roll my eyes. They're right next to my room. I walk up to them. " Excuse me your hurting this man right in front of my room. Can you move?" I ask The Scary Man with a pleasant smile. He bares his teeth at me. "I don't want to hurt you little girl!" Yea, well I want to hurt you. " I'm just asking you to move somewhere and hurt the man." The scary man drops the other less scary man, who is bleeding everywhere, and walks towards me. What the Hell is this guy's problem! I sigh, I don't want to have to deal with this right now, but at least it's a distraction from my thoughts. The scary man tries to punch me in the face, but of course I dodge. I shove him to the ground. Well that was easier than I thought. He is kind of old though. He also looks very familiar. The realization hits. "Chris?"
