"It must've really hurt when you fell from heaven."
The demon said and leaned back in his chair with a slight smirk on his face. The angel he spoke to puffed his cheeks and clenched his fists on the duvet. If he had his pure white wings out, he'd probably ruffle them like an angry rooster. But a lot of his feathers would be missing, and it would be painful to move them as they were both sprained.
"Very funny."
The young angel huffed in response, and that was all he could say, since he did in fact crash down on earth.
And it did hurt.
- A day earlier -
Even though it was summer, the evening sky became dark faster than usually due to the heavy rain clouds hanging low above the city. It wasn't raining yet, but it felt like it would start at any moment. Only some lightning and thunder were missing to complete the image of a classic thunderstorm threatening the city. A weather that keeps most people inside their cozy homes.
An angel landed on a railing set high up above, somewhere at the top of a skyscraper. Tiny in build, he kept his wings spread for balance, while he stretched his hand out. There was a flash of light in his palm, and a weapon materialized soon after - a white hammer with golden details situated on a long rod, pretty much longer than the height of the person holding it.
"Surrender peacefully while you can, this is my last warning."
The angel spoke with a firm tone and pointed the head of his hammer at the space in front of him. A sigh was to hear in response, coming from the shadows.
"You're such a pain in the ass, I swear..."
Red eyes looked up from below just as red bangs and glared at the winged being. The demon they belonged to was tall, lanky and visibly displeased with the confrontation.
"I could say the same about you. Now, are you coming or not?"
The angel asked, unfazed by the remark.
"Make me."
"Very well."
A confident smirk adorned his face when he leaped forward and swung with his hammer.

Juto came out of the bar and ignited a cigarette. He looked up in the sky and frowned at the dark clouds. He exhaled the smoke with a loud sigh and agreed to himself that he should pick up his pace on the way home. Hopefully it won't start to rain before he can step into his apartment.
Like right on cue a lightning cut through the clouds. A thunderstorm, great. He expected to hear a thunder, but there was none. Instead of that just more lightning bolts illuminated the clouds in dead silence. Strange. Unless it wasn't really the weather, but something more... supernatural. Not that it was any less stranger, but definitely something he was familiar with. Like, say, angels and demons duking it out again.
Juto made a grimace. Should he check it out or not? He didn't really feel like interfering in the matters of Heaven and Hell, and he had no reason to either. He left it all behind long ago after all. It wasn't his business anymore nor his problem. He pulled the collar of his jacked up and went straight ahead, not even sparing another glance at the bright flashes in the distance.
Meanwhile the fight in the sky continued. Each time the holy hammer clashed with the demon's cursed blade, the impact exploded with sparks and bright light. Something wasn't right though. The angel could feel that his opponent was growing stronger, and that he's being drawn into his pace. Soon enough he switched from attacking to defending himself from a series of heavy blows. When he felt that the last blow will hit hard, he summoned a protective barrier to block it and retreated a few feet back to put some distance.
He was panting hard from the stress, meanwhile his opponent didn't seem tired at all.
"What? Surprised at my strength?" The demon had a smug smirk. "Would you like to know why? Well then, have a look."
Without waiting for an answer, he reached to his pocket to grab an item and threw it. The disciple of light caught it and examined. He was holding an empty vial with some demonic writing on the label. Once he deciphered it, his face became pale and he looked up at the demon wide eyed. The smirk on his face was even more smug than before. This was bad. Really bad. That bastard drugged himself to become stronger. Granted, it was only for an hour, but it was more than enough to finish him off.
The angel grit his teeth as his hand clenched on the vial. There was no point in trying to be brave and hope for a miraculous win, only to die in vain. He gulped, and felt a lump in his throat. Maybe with enough luck he'd be able to retreat. Maybe.
"Do you realize it now? That you can't stand a chance!"
A red aura enveloped his body and the demon charged at his opponent.

"Nonono, don't you even dare..."
Juto just finished his cigarette, when he saw the white and red lightnings in the sky moving closer and closer in his direction. Suddenly a bright beam flew straight between the buildings like a meteor entering the atmosphere, and crashed two streets away. A red beam followed it soon after.
Juto sighed. He wanted to stay away from the affairs, but it seemed like the affairs decided to cross his path anyway. He still resisted to take any action, and considered to take a detour back home. However just a few steps in, he turned around and decided to just take a sneak peek at the drama and then leave. He wasn't sure if it was curiosity or just some hero instincts kicking in.
He picked up his pace until he was running. He turned at a corner, stopped abruptly and hid behind the wall. Someone stood there, drenched in red aura. Clearly a demon, and he was busy right now with stomping on whoever was unfortunate to anger him. They illuminated by a lantern light, like on some kid of stage, the echo carried the sounds of pained screams and laughter. The demon pulled on something that looked like white wings. A typical clash between the "purebred" and "fallen", the mocking names the sides gave to each other.

The demon was so focused on torturing the angel that he didn't hear nor sense a trash bin flying straight at him. The impact had enough force to send him flying a few feet away. He didn't have much time to complain about it, once he stood up and turned around boiling with rage, a tall shadowy man with bright red eyes was already leaping at him. They both fell with a loud thud and rolled a bit away, then broke off making some distance.
"The FUCK you want from me, asshole!? Back off before I rip you apart, I'm running on Berserker Blood!"
The demon yelled, giving a fair warning to his shadowy opponent, referring to the drug that made him stronger. It didn't impress Juto though. He chuckled, then laughed in the other demon's face.
"I AM A BERSERKER!"
He exclaimed, the black aura swirled around his whole body like a smoke cloud. It thickened becoming gradually solid and forming a segmented black, chitin-like armor. Long thin claws appeared around his hands, black armored wings grew on his back. He grinned, some smoke escaped at the corner of his lips.
The other demon suddenly understood who's in front of him. He never thought to meet someone from the Hell's elite Chessmen in person, especially not in a place like this. Having one against you was bad, bad news. The demon raised his arms and wanted to speak up, but he didn't get a chance to even open his mouth as the black mass just charged at him without a warning. One sharp punch to the solar plexus knocked the air out of his lungs. The strength that came with the drug was weaker compared to the elite unit, but at least it could lessen the pain in taking damage. Like that series of punches that followed. And the powerful kicks. But the demon didn't want to go down so easily, so he tried to fight back with all his might.
However, bruised and exhausted he decided to call it quits when Juto summoned a series of black blades to finish him off. He made some distance again and disappeared through a portal that he opened at his feet, flipping him off as a goodbye. The blades tossed at him just cut through air and lodged themselves in the ground.
The alley was quiet again.
Save for the wheezing and coughs of the beaten up angel.
Speaking of which.
Juto looked back over his shoulder. The white paladin of Heaven was kneeling on the ground still under that lantern light. His wings were twisted at weird angles, and the missing feathers were scattered around like someone would rip a pillow open. His armor had cracks here and there. He was clutching to his wounds, or rather holding his palm close to them, to heal them with a faint light coming from it. It didn't seem to help much, though. Juto wondered why he didn't call his heavenly buddies for help, when he noticed a shiny object next to the injured man. The halo, which was a communication device was broken in half. Teleporting himself was out of question, as he simply didn't have the amount of required energy for a safe jump, or else he'd be stuck in the void.
With no means of reaching his kin, he was pretty much stuck in here.
Juto approached him, stepping into the light. He thought the angel didn't pay attention to the surroundings, but as soon as he was close enough, a white gun was pointed in his direction.
"Stay back..."
The angel said between wheezes, his aim swaying a bit. Juto realized that he probably looked menacing in his armor, so he turned it back to a black aura. Once the smoke faded away he raised his arms in a calming gesture.
"It's alright, I won't harm you."
He stepped closer, when a shot was fired, and the bullet grazed his arm. He winced.
"Don't come near me demon!"
The angel obviously didn't trust him.
"Hey, I just saved you ass, in case you didn't notice!"
"What for?" His voice shook a bit, and he needed to refocus his aim. "Ulterior motives... all of you! Hellish scum!"
Juto's eyebrow twitched. Alright, that was a bit too much. Even though he knew most angels had that kind of attitude, he expected at least a pouty "thank you".
"Fine then!" He threw his arms up in the air, not caring about the bleeding from the graze. "Just die here you fucking purebred!"
And just like that he turned around and stepped away, angrily reaching to his pocket to grab a cig. He was about to ignite it when he heard a thud behind. Turning around he saw that the angel dropped the gun and had a coughing fit, some blood dripped from his mouth. It looked pretty bad for the small guy. He really was about to kick the bucket. In some unknown, dirty street.
All alone.
Juto sighed and put the cig away. Without a word he turned back, kicked the gun away and crouched near the angel. He started to protest again, trying to push him back, but Juto grabbed his wrist and just twisted it. The pain made him scream, but he continued to struggle.
"This is for you own good, you little shit."
Juto said with a surprisingly calm voice, pulled him up and just hit the angel on the side of the neck where his artery was, instantly knocking him out. His body went limp and his wings and armor faded away. He picked the body carefully in his arms and stood up. The first rain drops dripped on his face when he summoned a demonic circle at his feet.
"Hang in there."
He mumbled to the knocked out angel and adjusted him slightly in his arms, then disappeared teleporting himself away before the rain started for good. He was off to meet a friend who probably knew a thing or two about aiding purebreds.
