How could he do this? I can’t believe he just used his power with her! This isn’t supposed to happen!! My job just gets worse and worse! I wonder how the other narrator is going to take this…
Mochi’s eyes had turned more cat like than before as the slits were thinner, and her ears were folded back with her hands placed firmly on them. I moved closer to her and grabbed one of her arms.
“Shh! We have to get inside quickly. They must sensed that there is an outsider here. Normally he wouldn’t have guards on patrol…. COME ON! We will be safe inside..” I pulled her up and tugged on her arm until she followed me. Her face grimaced, probably from the loud roar. It took me less than 2 minutes to drag her to my home.
It's been so long since I’ve seen this place, or not actually, but it sure felt like it. I quickly walked in and lead her to the small couch. Closing the door I turned around and went to light the fireplace. I used fire magic and quickly it roared to life, and I filled the pot near with water, also using powers. I waited for the water to start boiling, although I really could just used my powers…I prepared two cups for tea and brought them back to where Mochi was and gave her one. She wrapped her hands around it and seemed to have calmed down. She sat a bit, sipping the tea.
“What did you do? Is this a trick?” She eyed me suspiciously.
“No, I used my power to bring you here. This is my home planet, Noctem. In fact this is my lair! I’m not from your planet, although I’m sure you knew I wasn’t a demon. I’m actually of the same species of those people with your Chief.”
“What do you mean planet? This is another planet?? What do you mean the same species? Your spirits are nothing similar…”
“Ah! That's because there is some sort of magic that shares the power of the Dragon Lord...I don’t know a lot about it since it's for the Dragon Lord only and his workers. That's why there was a roar out there, one of the guards on patrol must have sensed something” I got up and looked outside, slowly opening the window I listened to see if it was still around. Seems they left, thank goodness. I closed the window and went back to Mochi.
“Magic….Dragon Lord? Who is that? Dragon…….I thought those were just a myth. How can I believe you? And what is this tea? My spirit feels off…”
“The tea has an herb in that is known to help conceal your spirit. Like I said you are different from the beings here, so we would have trouble. Dragons are a myth? I’m pretty sure I’m real…. The Dragon Lord is our leader. He is the only one that can use all the elements, Spirit, Fire, Water, Wind and Earth.”
“What do you mean you think you’re real? That would mean you’re trying to say you’re a dragon! And someone that can use all the elements? I need proof of this!”
“Fine. Follow me. I’ll show you my true form, it’s safe outside.” I walked outside and Mochi followed me, her face showed a look of disbelief.
I closed my eyes and let out a deep sigh before letting the seal on my true self be let go. My hands elongated to become claws, sharp and long. My flesh became scales and I became my true self that I normally kept inside. I stretched my wings and sat down on the ground, looking down at Mochi. She looked startled beyond belief. I opened my mouth to say something, but she started attacking my side. Was she trying to make sure I was a physical thing??
“Is this proof enough for you? I told you, dragons are real, in fact everyone on this planet is a dragon…. Look at the sky if you don’t believe this is someplace different. We live in constant darkness, and our moons are blue, teal and silver. We have three unlike the two on your planet.”
“This…..is too much. But it seems you’re telling the truth. What can dragons do?”
I went back into my human form before answering her. “Well, we are born with a single element, except the Dragon Lord so the stories say. My birth element is Water. So I’m skilled in using magic with water. It’s possible to learn how to use the other elements, but not a lot of dragons do that since it takes a long time to learn another element normally. Around 500 years per element? I happen to have a knack for it so I know another element, Fire. We also can do this thing called world travel, which is how I got to your planet and back to here!” I showed her a small use of my skills, creating a pool of water in one hand and a small flame in the other.
“Do you not use things to cast this?? This is what you’re born with?? I think I need some time to take this all in. I’m going back inside your house. We might as well stay the night here. Leave me alone.”
“Sure, that's fine, um if you’re hungry I’ll make some food later or something although I’m not a great cook. Also feel free to look in my library...there’s a lot of books there that might help you understand. I’m going to go outside for a bit and collect more herbs to dry.”
I went stayed outside while Mochi went back in and I started walking for a bit until I turned into my dragon form. It was definitely faster to fly to the Great Pond to gather the Occultatum. This was the special herb that I added to the tea, it works to hide the spirit, along with a few other things. I was the only dragon that knew where to gather this stuff, or at least that I knew of. I landed by the Great Pond and looked at my reflection briefly. My scales were a dark black, with a shiny undertone of blue. Depending on the light, they looked more blue than black. Most water dragons had blue somewhere on them. Along my back were small spikes, that went to my head and formed into a ridge, almost crown like thing. My eyes a deep blue, another trademark of my water nature. All together, without trying to be smaller than I am, I was around the size of a small yet still kind of large tree. I quickly turned back and gathered what I was looking for, a small almost glowing flower type plant. I turned back and went home. Finally getting back I looked at Mochi, still on the couch, before turning away.
I left her alone and went into my room. Just the way I left it. On my bed was a well worn book, a picture book. I smiled before picking it up and reading it for what seemed the 100th time. Of course I had read this so many times I didn’t even need the words. Maybe Mochi would like this book…
